Hit up my brother he has jmax DOT approved helmets for $100
Hit up JXN he's got some gangsta ass buckets for cheap and can get the wide ones
I've heard good things about PBM, stance, megans
Defi gauges r super dope =)
I can help u with most wiring
I can also help with dry ice SD removal
Look at DOMAs batt relocation its really ez...plus u can get 20ft of Og wire for cheap at 11th and central in downtown...
Also u suck at beer pong haha

since you have a 5-pt harness, you should definitely add a cage to your list.

Personally I wouldn't recommend anything Megan, I simply just don't trust that company period. It's a real hit and miss. The coilovers seem to be consistant, but I still wouldn't take the chance.

Coilovers - KTS (Perfect for daily and track, best I've ever ridden on), PBM (gangster low and pretty damn stiff), or Stance (Very good overall track use, ok to daily, lots of rep in these coilovers).

Gauges - I got a bundle of Apexi gauges for $350 if you want (4 total). Or if you wanna go cheaper, just get some autometer gauges they work just fine.

dry ice (Do this while you switch to your bucket seat! :)) - doesn't HAVE to be done, but if you wanna do it, make sure you buy a lot, like 14lbs or so. It will seem like forever.

Battery relocate - cheap DIY, don't forget to mount it damn good though. Make a nice little box for it.

i kinda wanna go with a name brand on the bucket... sparco and Corbeau seem pretty affordable

Coilovers i kinda wanna keep it between Stance and Tein, not down with megans or PBM...

Defi gauges are great, but the whole needing controller thing i dont get it?...

i've been debating STRi gauges for a while, i need to keep it in the 52mm trim size, since my Center vent gauge holder and radio delete panel are already cut to that size...

I actually found some 0g stereo wire in the garage from a previous part out i did, its enough to go from the hatch engine bay, now i just need a ground and box for it

last i checked me and Felix kicked everyone's ass the other night, we lost 1 out of how many wins?...lol

cage is on the list, but not yet, that and paint are both on the list, i just wanna get to an ivent and finally drive, been 2 years since ive hit the track...i forgot everything...EVERYTHING...:Ownedd:

this car is straight track only, i have a perdy 91 SE coupe that i DD, so the whole DD on coils isnt an issue...

there are no seats in the car right now so dry ice is the first thing i wanna do...

as far as batt relocation, im gonna buy a box at AZ and brace it well no worries...

I have a Pryotect helmet. Great $$ and quality.

You already got all the Corbeau info from me. The WIDE FX1 and Forzas are both great buckets - also cheap and very comfortable.

Im a big fan of the D-max Driftspec coilovers. I have had both TEIN Flex & Stance GR - and I like the D-Max better. And i was able to get mine for $950 picked up locally.

I loved my STRi guages, they worked well for the $$

Dry-ice! You know im down to help with that.

And i buy most of my race stuff (like the battery relo) from Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts l 800-230-3030 (http://www.summitracing.com/)

could have sworn your car was already on coils
I'd concentrate on the main things
seat
coils
gauges
maybe a better differential unit
and take car of the rest down the road - battery relocation, dry ice, etc.

Helmet, bucket, coilovers, steering wheel. Must have for all cars. Helmet so you can enjoy your car at the track; bucket to hold your ass still so you can focus on diving and not bolstering yourself; coilovers because driving a car that feels like a speed boat sucks; and steering wheel because after you get a bucket it will show how much more sucky the stock wheel is. Also you won't be able to get the right seating position without one most of the time.

its on RSR springs and stock struts (which are all blown now lol)

the battery needs to be relocated, its a civic battery that's jammed between the intake pipping and the chassis wall...no brace nothing, and the wiring is attrocious (sp on that ? lol)

the diff will be replaced but currently hooks well so im not in a rush for it yet... once i find one ill swap out the vld into the DD and use the open diff out of the dd to drop a 2 way into...

I know the 240SX community really hates K-Sport coilovers for whatever reason, but I have had 3 sets on 3 different cars with great success. I got a set for $769 shipped last spring and sold the old-style Teins that came with my car- almost broke even. Might be something to consider as well...

my personal opinion on them isnt great, ive seen them bend at events...more than once...im not a particular fan of them...

one of my friends who did have one bend traded out for Teins and did the exact same course with 0 issues...

Eh, don't go with Tein. They're great coilovers, but way overpriced. Since I see you don't like PBM I would say try Stance, DMax or JIC.
I would also suggest a new radiator. A local guy had an experience with one (it didn't even hold fluid the first time he put it in the car) and now no one around here uses them.
Differential would be a good idea, I know VLSDs aren't the best. Try a welded if you have a daily driver.
When you get coilovers your camber and toe settings will be fucked up, so I would recommend aftermarket RUCAs and toe rods then an alignment.

the radiator has handled 2 trips to vegas mid summer...in traffic, and about a year and a half of L.A. traffic driving...i think itll do fine...i do need to update the thermostat sinc ei havent done it yet...thanks for the reminder on that...but if it blows it blows, ill buy something better... ive seen Koyo rads blow too, just some bad eggs in the bunch...ill find out i guess

like i said ill get a 2 way soon...im not down for welded, its a waist to me, i already have a vlsd, let me fuck that up first b4 i go buying something that will probably sit around for a while lol

camber and toe rods, i hear yah...i might just hold off on doing the ES bushings on those for now then.

Ah, that is pretty lame... that would make me shy away from them too. I blew up two sets of JICs on my Solara, but never blew a k-sport. I'm sure some of that is subjective to the application and the type of use as well. I have heard a lot of praise for Stance and whatnot, so I'm sure you will make a good decision.

Defi's are dope! easy to wire up and very little to wire. you just wire up the control unit (4 wires), all the sensors plug into the back of the unit then one long wire goes to one gauge, then if you place them all next to each other they come with small connecting wires so you dont have a shit ton of wires all over the place. so each gauge is powered by the unit, plus you can set warnings and record your gauges for up to like 3 minutes i think? then play them back to see your peak temps, pressures and boost.

Steve, Driveline is a local shop and vendor on here. Just hit him up. He cuts great deals especially if you do local pick-up.

Definitely buy new either way just for the warranty. Let me dial in my stance coils properly and get an alignment. Then take it for a spin and see how you like them. When I first got them I freakin' enjoyed the hell out of them. After fucking with the settings to much and then being to lazy to return to old settings it's no bueno lol. Though obviously that's my own fault. I have GR+ Pros and would recommend them to anyone.

Gauges, we're getting the same, yay! I really like those STRI gauges. So far I've only seen good reviews on them.

About your helmet size, I told you a long time ago that your head is just to fucking big. There are very few companies that make anything SA rated in your size. The BELL M4 is SA2005 rated and might be the cheapest I believe.

so im tryin to make the slide assassins event
pretty much wat i need to get done
-helmet
-bucket seat (im a 40'' waist so i need some opinions from some bigguns here)

These should be the first two on your list imo... One finding a seat you're comfortable in tracking in will be a bitch and they take FOR FUCKING EVER TO GET...

second you cant race without a helmet, even if you don't get everything else on your list... So just eliminate that from your budget and don't be a bum and bum other peoples helmets.

-coilovers
I don't know whats good for drifting, but I imagine JICS SUCK for drifting... great for time attack, wagan, blah blah. Looks like you already decided, I would go with stance...

-gauges
Defi is baller shit, STRI gauges would be just fine although I hear they break fairly fast. The defi controller allows you to continously expand your gauges to the alloted slots on the controller without needing to tap wires for every new gauge you add.

Azndoc might still have all of his greddy gauges and the controller module. Hit him up.

-clean wiring
Not necessary for a track car, I would recommend just looming it up for the time being my man.

-dry ice
I don't understand why people do this for cars that drift, I guess to give them the illusion the car is now 40lbs lighter so they will slide better. If you're not welding in a cage, I'd save yourself the headache for now.

-Replace Intake pipping (running SR pipe on the CA)
If you have ANY problems with boost on your car not hitting right, this is number 3 on your list. Period...

again something that will take you forever to get someone to fix for you or to order from someone. My car has a weird boost lag in between 3-4k rpms so I either have to baby the car for it to run right or I have to drive it like i'm buttfucking a fish.

- iinstall FPR (have nismo type A)
great idea if you're running an aftermarket pump. Also make sure to have a pressure gauge as well.

-battery relocate
This can actually get expensive... with the costs of fuses and wires you're looking at almost 100+ dollars just to relocate the battery. On top of the fact if you relocate it to your trunk, to get cleared for drift you have to have a metal bracket in your trunk to keep the battery in place, 4 wood screws and a battery box wont cut it.

Last I checked.

im thinking of just going with the FX1 wide from Corbeau, i tryed there other 38'' waist size in Mehsilvia's car, needless to say my nuts suffered, the wide should be big enough and give me a much better seating feel...

second you cant race without a helmet, even if you don't get everything else on your list... So just eliminate that from your budget and don't be a bum and bum other peoples helmets.
agreed, im meeting with Tom possibly today to get a helmet...if not ill buy it online...the M4 seems to be my need...no one else has a noggin like mine...

either STRi or AEM im still debating...lol
looking to get
Oil Temp
Oil Press
Water temp
fuel Press

those are my main concern... later volt & Egt gauge would be nice...gotta also throw in a EBC as well

Not necessary for a track car, I would recommend just looming it up for the time being my man.

my wiring scares me...mind you theres so much useless shit not being used...heater, A/C assembly under dash, seatbelt harnesses, out of sight out of mind...

cage will be installed by our bud Luis later down the road, im just tires of the sound becoming all soft and goo like in the sun, might as well remove it...

trust me, with my fat ass in the car 40 lbs wont exactly be my concern

boost leak isnt the issue, the pipe is rubbing on the hood , the pipe is literally being rubbed to the point were there will be a big issue, i need the pipe cute and reangled to fit without hitting the hood

great idea if you're running an aftermarket pump. Also make sure to have a pressure gauge as well.

Hit him up.

find me some new defi's or greddy gauges 52mm for good pricing :naughty:

im debating between the profec B spec II or AEM true boost ? anyone

so heres what i ended up getting

Coilovers-
Stance GR+ Pro's

Gauges-
STRi SLM
Water temp
Oil temp
Oil Press
Fuel Press

EBC-
HKS EVCS

as far as an adapter for the oil gauges im most likely going with one from glowshiftdirect.com. another CA user told me about em and he's used his (motor running higher HP) with 0 issues...just gotta find the right one for the STRi gauge sensor fittings.

as far as helmet im still waiting on Tom to let me know if he can make the mods to the helmet the way i need it, safe and durable ofcourse...I met up with him sunday night and the Effin thing didnt fit well...the crown was hurting meh head and the cheek pads wernt to comfy either...

and seat im leaning towards Corbeau or sparco, just dont know which one yet lol

anyone have any good prices/feedback for a a legit short quick release...?
not looking for no name brands knock off stuff...dont care how well it might work for you or your "homie"
