what an idiot. if you don't know anything about basic car maintainence, don't get one, especially a bimmer.
hell before i even got a car, i knew i had to change oil, fluids, etc...
watch this guy say that he hasn't pumped air in his tires in 60k miles either.

Sent the link to my sister, hope it scares her into taking car maintenance seriously.
Story would have been better, as a cautionary tale at least, if the car would have blown up in flames.

I recommend keeping the oil you change. That way, you only need to spend the money for 2 oil changes in the lifetime of your car. You just need to remember to rotate the oil every 5,000 miles or so to keep them fresh.

how the fuck does it run for 60K on the same oil !?!?!?!?
Got to love synthetic. Now if there wasn't all that shit in gasoline...
!Zar!
12-01-2009, 06:03 PM
Good thing carfax will inform people about this!
I run 15k or so intervals with my diesel truck, but that uses 15 quarts of synthetic, has a bypass filter that gets changes every 5k, and I do blackstone oil tests to see if and when I need to do a very expensive oil change.
You would be amazed how long quality synthetic oil is good for. The big rigs go a real long time between changes.
So maybe I should go for 40-60k for my next oil change. lol

how funny, today i realized the "next oil change" sticker thing in my truck was 10,000 miles off and i was 3,000 miles beyond the correct time i should have gotten it changed. i feel really dumb. oil change tomorrow.

yeah, i bought a ca18det from japanese engines inc in patterson new jersey and that happened.
from what i can tell, they removed the oil cap and cleaned what was visible.
then they wouldnt honor the warranty and said i was trying to swap another motor from another place.

FML IM SCARED TO BUY A 7 SERIES NOW =0( Especially because a lot of dumb asses get bimmers because they think it's COMPLETELY MAINTENANCE FREE...

12-06-2009, 07:28 PM
Not really. People normally have the dealership change the oil. It isn't just bmw owners.
All people have the potential to be that stupid.

hahaha. one of my good friends got a free toyota previa that had that same super sludge crap all over its valvetrain.... i wish i could remember where we saved the pics. anywho, that's pretty rough to not maintain your BMW for 60k miles.
My dad had a Solara that would pour blue smoke for about 1 minute after you started it.
We took it in. The mechanic said he had never seen sludge buildup that bad EVER. I asked my dad when he last did an oil change. He just stared at me.

I had a SR come in my old shop I worked at and the oil was just like that. I pulled the oil pan and the oil came out like mud thick thick mud.
