If I lived in Cali or florida I'd probably have no problem finding a decent one, but I'm in Wisconsin.

I found my fastback last 2002 summer but was searching since the winter 2001. I found a low mileage eastcoast one but it had a lot of hidden rust. Rust that I still discover till this day :(

4 days, and I found 4. This was March of 2001 though, before the bandwagon got huge... I saw a black 97 SE, leather and 5-speed all that good stuff, but I don't really like the front of those personally. I saw a red 93' coupe, but it was red, so I passed on that, same with a red 96' base. I wound up getting the gold (it's not gold anymore) 95' base on monday of the following week, the price was right, the car wasn't red and it had a 5-speed. I don't think that many people since will have had that kind of luck scouting out their 240s, but hey, I got mine.

i got lucky as hell on mine, advertising for 1600 in the paper went there checked it out had 300k on the chassis and rebuilt engine/tranny 60k ago had 1 flat came with like 8 extra rims, 6 nissan and 2 steelies. everything was good execpt the asshhole like spray painted the cloth on the inside, ****ing ricers who the hell wants a blue and black interior on a green car? oh and it had like stupid stickeres that must of given the car like 18 hp each, needs new stuts and back brakes and such, but yeah im replacing the interior this week anyways gave the guy 1400 and trailor hitched it home.

I got lucky as hell too. 90 83k no rust and runs great. I love it.

Hey guys, newbie here. I regularly drive an RX300 and one day decided I wanted a 240sx after seeing an ad in the paper, found a second 240 that same day (a newer one) and bought it the next day. So, two days  I am hooked on the look of the '95-'96 S14 bodystyle, it's one great looking car.
It's a 1995 SE 132k, excellent interior, runs great and already had STB installed. I would have preferred a 5-speed, but the auto is smooth. I've been working on little things to make it look as good as I can.
I plan on selling it eventually, but not too soon; This 240 is too much fun to drive! I keep seeing the slick JDM parts like power folding mirrors...must resist...buying...mods... :D

I voted for a month, but I actually got lucky after looking for only 2 weeks. I blew my head gasket on my Maxima, and the next day I started looking for a S14. I found one in the paper and went home with it 3 days later. Lucky me, hehe.

Wich 240? The 91 FB didnt take long...got it at a small car dealer, the First 93FB that I owned it took about 2 weeks of looking, the 89 coupe we fell upon by chance when I decided to sell the 93 hatch. and the other 91FB we have came to us. I guess we are kinda lucky when it comes to finding 240's.
Now selling the 93 about a year ago took us about 6 weeks, had it in the autotrader for 4 weeks and 2 calls, let a friend borrow it to drive to school, with a FS sign on it, and sold it 2 days after that. Sorry so long.

It took me about 2 months to find my car. It was hard liking every 240 i drove and i wanted all of them but when you find out the timing chain is loose, valves are bent, salvage titles and crap like that it seems to take forever. I bought my car yesterday and i love it baby! :aw:

heh took me about a month to find one here in CA. found a good amount in AutoTrader but there were all snatched up the moment it got printed! plenty of automatics, but was looking for a 5spd. and it had to be 95-98. finally found my 96 240sx se, with bout 120k miles for 5 grand, probably gotta cheaper price, but was just relieved to find one! came with some upgrades already so that was good, downsides, it was red, and the clearcoat was coming off.

About two months of hard daily constant searching in newspapers, autotrader, recycler, and forums. In the last week of that 2-month period, I actively went out to see cars and test drive them. The last one I saw was the keeper.

I don't know what is with all you guys not being able to find 240s. Just this year, my friend got a fastback and coupe, I got a S13 coupe and S14, my friends 2 brothers got one each, my cousin came up on two, and my old roomate already went through three.
...then again, maybe it's us that's preventing you guys from getting yours. heh heh heh.
It took me a year and a half to find my s14 cause I didn't wanna buy just anything. Plus I already had 2 hondas at the time. The s13 that I just bought I saw it sitting at alot and asked how much they wanted for it. Found out it was cheap so I picked it up.

I wasnt looking to buy a car (I own 2 others right now) but I frequent craigslist.com and one bright day I went into the cars/trucks 4 sale section....and :hyper: I saw the 1990 s13 I own now (I previously owned a 91 240 when I was 16), posted for $1100. The couple was moving to England and I must have saw the post when she had just posted it cause I sent her the 1st email (she said she had over 50 emails) and she gave me a number to call her and she told me as long as I didnt mind waiting 3 weeks until they moved to England that it was mine. So the day before they left and as I patiently waiting I drove it home! Even talked them down to $1000! :bigok:

It took me over 2 years to find one.
I had an Idea of what I wanted in the car..Straight body, good paint, clean title under 2k. I ended up settling on a car with a good title, bad paint, straight body (except rust under the spoiler), bad water pump, only paid 500 bux for it

Took me about 4 months(got it last april)....believe it or not @the time I was just looking to get a good handling car and was not aware of the drifting craze. After searching and searching I found a 95' se with rims, blitz nur spec exhaust, and tokico shocks for 3000. The catch was that the car didn't run but only needed a new head(I was given another w/the car) after swapping out the head, which wasn't fun, I found out the engine was blown. Moral of the story take your time and be patient, especially if you don't know that much about cars to begin with.
Took only a month for my 97 s14, found in Richmond, CA. thanks to autotrader!
I saw six fastbacks in 15 minutes while standing next to a bus stop at SF state.

about 2 months. i drove 3 S13's here in michigan, the winter beating was apparent. got an email from the shop that works on my civic. 97 240 LE with 44,000 on it. no engine. perfect! for $9,000 i got the S14, RB25DET, tranny, ecu, wiring harness, Mckinney mounts and driveshaft, walbro fuel pump, and custom radiator. this was about 2.5 weeks ago. i cant wait to drive it with the RB.

I found mine on the side of the road. I was doing the used car lot sweep because I hated my KIA, and I didnt even know what a 240sx was. It had rims and a graphic and I was a ricer, so we were a perfect match. I had the $2500 cash to pay for it so I bought it the next day(and peeled the graphic). Then I was bit by the sports car bug and here I am now. I'd say I found mine in an afternoon.

Still looking. It has been over 5 months now. I bought a honda civic HB 4 months ago to get by with something and keep looking. I recently sold the HB and still looking. I found a few but everytime I go to look for them or call them up. "Sorry, it sold today" Damn!!! I did find another a '89 FB out in the country, he wants $1200 but seems like it has engine problems w/ 192k miles on it, and rust under spoiler. other than that its clean, so I dont know I am thinking hard on that one, all I know it could be gone already lol :hammer:

My current one found me... After flipping my S14 in 2003, I wasn't exactly looking for another S-chassis yet, but last year, someone I know happened to have an automatic 89 coupe with a good body/interior with a blown engine, had already swapped the PS lines for the twincam and painted the underhood flat black, and only wanted $500.00 for it... I'd have been a fucking fool to not take it, a 95 KA only cost me another $400.00 and tranny was free, the rest of the 5-speed swap chit came for $100.00 and there have, of course been a bevy of miscellaneous shit needed snce then, but I still got a good deal.

So my original plan was to buy a 1997 Maxima SE. Ive been searching for that for since I was 15. As about a year and a half passed by I realized it would cost me to much for my first car. So yea when I turned 16 my friend told me about a 240sx he had seen. It was a 97-8 model s14. Right then and there when he showed me some pics I fell in love and knew I much own one. Problem? $$$. Didnt want parents to buy me a car because they can control the keys anytime or take it out anytime :(. Recently my friend bought a 1993 Coupe SE from an auction for 1g since it was under a none running car. Knowing its a Nissan it started up fine with of coarse a batter charger. Till this day the battery is very weak and am going to buy a new one. So yeah, he ended up selling me his 240sx for a g. Now Im turning 18 next month and cant wait! :rawk:
2 years in the searching for a hatch and ended up with a coupe?!?! Still a 240sx right? :goyou:

If you count looking with money, I got super lucky and found it in a month.

It takes me less the 24hrs to get 70% of my 240's. If not, someone else will snatch it up. You got to be on top of your game. Im that guy that makes good deals on AutoTrader "Sorry, just sold it". Hate all you want, you still have a 30% chance, so be happy :)
