God damn that's a real grind! $11K a year?!?

I know what they mean with the decline though, there has not been any real quality movies/shows to watch over the years.

They should have never outsourced to begin with.

What about Bleach and Naruto?

Those workers make 11 grand a year also?

Yeah, the past year has been horrible for anime. The only show that has lived up to expectations is Darker than Black. Everything else is terrible. Both in production quality and storyline.

They need anime that will appeal to a larger audience and better marketing. Alot of what they have been making lately is shit with panty shots of very under age girls and "moe". Sure it might appeal to the scary hardcore anime freaks but not to other people. Im surprised the dude the WSJ journal interviewed in Akihabara wasnt the stearotypical white anime fan lol.

i think most fans have noticed this happening a few years ago... i.e. korean names showing up in the credits instead of all japanese. unfortunately it seems inevitable. higher quality of life = higher cost of living / higher wages = higher cost to produce, all first world countries will eventually be victims of their own success in one form or another.

Most are willing to pay for a better product though. The producer/manufacturer assumes we want more for less rather than good quality at a fair price(does Walmart or GM ring a bell?).

As far as anime goes I will stick to High quality low production stuff like the old school Gundam 0083/0081 or FLCL.
