Do any of you have Bride seats in a S14?

I was wondering if you sit lower than stock with those seats. I just bought a helmet for Solo 2 and drift and I don't fit in my car unless I do the stunta lean :(

thanks!

yeah it sits about same (maybe taaaad lower) depending on which bride seat and rail design (bucket=side mount or bottom mount=reclinable).

i dont think anyone here iirc has a bride seat YET. i wll have a brix shortly and i know one other member who'll have a zeta II shortly :)

i have 2 sets of bride and bride style rails. yet to mount it to a seat though...in due time :D

A noob quest: Are the Bride rails interchangable with other seats?

old timer answer: No. and Yes.
sidemount: sometimes (sparco rev it will work for sure w/ modification)
bottommount: most no: not recaro SRD, i DONT think sparco but i've yet to put my hands on a sparco seat that my friend has and test fit. one momo seat we tried: no.

all require modification
blitz seats..dont know either. yet to play with one. good seats though. comfy :)

so you're saying that it won't really make a difference ?

I am planning on getting the Bride reclinable seat. It uses the side mount also doesn't it? Theres no way you can fit a seat in a 240 without the side mount like the factory. unless you nail it to the floor :)

I want a seat that sits lower than stock. or else I cna't really sit properly

NO! bride reclineables are bottom mount (brix, ergo, etc)
you'll be around maybe bit less then stock ride height
just better support in the seat.

side mounts are bucket seats (zeta, artis, etc)

bride makes a super low sidemount rail IRC. But i've been told by reliable sources that its only avaible for the driver side. JDM driver side that is.

i'm most likely going to go brix sometime in the near future, i also have the problem of can't fit comfortably into my car with helmet. Grrr, its a problem tall people have to live with. I usually just tilt my seat really far back and drive lowrider style. Very bad on the neck and unsafe in race situations.

yes that's true. i want to say version VG or something but not 100% sure. but AS OF RIGHT NOW its driver side (japan) only!
sucks. supposed to be SUPER low. might make US driver one depending on how sales and such go. not many cars have this problem that 240sx does!

shouldn't get a car w/ sunroof :D

its not my fault i have a sunroof! the pevious owner decided it would be pimp to put a sunroof on my base s14 (he also had chrome hubcaps).

I'm thinking
1) buy the JDM super low driverside seat rails, take it to a fab shop and have them custom make one for the left side to match. $$$$$
2) somehow remove my sunroof and get it back to stock form... $$$$$$$$$$$
3) bolt it down straight to the floor, $0. ghetto style.

4) remove upper head carpeting/interior junk
cover w/ plastic bag to keep water out :p

BOBO ZENKI: best bet for a seat w/ looooow sitting position, is buy your bottom mount sat you want w/ a custom rail or a fabbed bride rail to fit a sparco/corbeau/recaro

or just buy a bride seat and rail if you can afford. brix retails like 1100 or 1200 and rail is another 200...pretty hefty.

dealer cost? i cant say :p

The passenger side of our car (Japan driverside) doesn't have the floor hump to contend with. Buying a jdm driverside rail will not be a very good template for our drivers side rail..

I would probably go with a bride bucket.. unfortunately I am your typical 6'4" 220lb american.. I don't fit well in japanese seats.

Italians know how to make seats for me though. :)

actually bride has a lot of seats for the 'husky' individual!! my friends are larger then me and we tried some seats at IAS and they loved it. a lot of new stuff coming out and you probably can find one that suits you well
