This is not about my 240 but I need tech advice on my blazer.
I was backing my boat into the carport where it's suppose to go and then there was a jerk and then a pop that seemed like it came from the rear end. Now there is no reverse at all. if I sit there with it in reverse I can hear a wind/sqeal coming from the tranny. All it does is sit there and rev like it were in neutral. Drive works though.
My question is, Is it the tranny that blew or the rear end? about 6 months ago we went through a big ordeal with firstone when they replaced our rear end fluid and didn't do something right and they ended up replacing the entire rear end. It wasn't really completely right I don't think because when we turned the wheel to the left/right as far as it would go and turned slow the back tires would squel like hell. So do you all think it is the rear end or the tranny. If it is the rear end it will be under warrenty so I hope that is what it is, but since it is under warrenty it proably won't be the rear end (with my luck).
thanks,
dave.
