Alright guys, you better appreciate this. Hopefully you guys can use this as a good point of reference when you decide to tackle whatever wiring job you may happen to be working on.

I've had an OEM Wiring Diagram from 1988 for the S13 chassis, SOHC, and covers both hatch a coupe models. I'll Work on getting better pictures, but my scanner just isn't big enough for the pages (I'll take it to a copy place to have them scanned, and scaled down) Included in the book is a 7ft, color coded, schematic of the entire harness which I'll also figure out a way to get on here... possibly in a PDF or Zip. Anyways, hope you guys like it, I've never seen another one of these books.

Haha, that's cool, now you don't have to flip pages back and forth.

What we really need (and I plan on putting together in the supposedly-upcoming wiring section) is pinouts/wire colors to all these plugs, or at least the important ones.

yes Jordan that is a damn good idea, but all the info the op posted is readily avail in chiltons and FSM's.

but if you need any help with that Jordan let me know because I have 2 S13's worth of wiring harnesses, and I mean complete uncut harnesses so if you need to know the wire colors coming or going from anything Im sure I can help.

Seriously let me know.

the book actually has that. this is just the first bit of information im posting. I know this stuff is in chiltons too, but IMO those books are garbage. Plus, this is a little easier than pulling up the fsm and looking through it for quick references. You guys know how many times we see the "where does this plug go" threads. Now we have a source to link them to instead of just telling them to go look it up themselves (which in all honesty, most prob. don't do.)

I would love something like this for S13 SR since the FSM is not available in English.

Good info I guess, but I just don't see the usefulness of the info you posted. Maybe it's just because I have access to wiring diagrams and could likely route an s-13 wiring harness with my eyes shut. I've kinda worked on a LOT of s-13's, including stripping them down to bare chasis and starting over. Once again good thought, I'm just not sure how much it will really help.

It helps when you do an auto S13. The FSM doesn't do a good job of outlining what all the harnesses are.

First, the thread wasn't meant to help someone who knows how to wire S13s in their sleep.

Second, the SOHC FSM is not available in PDF from what I've searched. I was forced to buy a hardcopy. I compared it with the DOHC FSM and there are slight differences.

Third, I prefer factory, but if given a choice, I would have to go with AllData because of our past history.

I've tried MOD on a few occasions but I wasn't familiar with the interface so it took more time.

I'm not as familiar with rewiring as you are so this thread would help me.

WOW, relax... I'm just saying....

yeah i mean this info wasn't presented to teach the guys who've owned a dozen s chassis. I still like to think that zilvia is a place to get good info and can actually be used as a good resource.

I just like putting what I have out there, and positively contributing to this site. If we all did the same (put out all the unbiased info we had) we would have fewer threads clogging stuff up with questions you can get from said info.

g6civcx
11-23-2009, 03:52 PM
Honestly, your stuff won't really help me either because I prefer to use my hardcopy of the SOHC FSM, but it will help me help others by having something to point to.

True they can help sometimes with arrangements. But, recently a lot of "build" threads have consisted of mainly "look at the parts i bought, heres a picture of a car torn apart, crap I'm out of money, done."

Anyways, to stay relevant, I'll start working on getting the color coated diagram loaded up. (I just have to bring the book over to staples and have them scan the 17" tall pages for me) It also gives some other information I'll get uploaded, and I'll add it to this thread.

And what makes you think there is going to be a different FSM for a S14 K's, Q's, A's?

If you pay attention when reading into it, the harness schematic or some were else, is going to tell you what model would include the variation, if there is a variation, Dick!!.

101 is under the drivers seat, and 125 is where the rear latch for the trunk is, the panel covers it if you still have it there. and the seat one is under the carpet on the hump

I have an odd question, I bought a 93 S13 (coupe) front clip and I am using the wire harness that came with the clip. My issue is that the harness is cut where they made the cut for the front clip as seen in the picture attached. Would it be safe to assume that the wires on my 93 240s coupe are an even one for one swap?

Hi how are you sorry to bother you but i'm trying to figure out why my instrument cluster does not work. I have a 89 240sx that i just swapped out the SOHC with the DOHC i was wondering if you had the Pinout for the Body Harness that hooks from the computer to the Dash.

Ive just about finished an rb20det - s13 conversion with a bare and basic s13 body harness and and rb engine loom.

This doco helped me find those pesky two wire i need to link to the speedo sender to get it running. - Ive spent a year looking online for info haha.

Now just to get my tacho working and my dash clock to show some numbers on it.. any ideas ? lol

GSXRJJordan
08-13-2012, 11:22 PM
Dash clock will come on with power and ground to the cluster. Tach wire is a single wire straight from the tach to the engine speed output on the ECU, and use the potentiometer to match what you see on the needle to what you see with a timing light.

DrFaust
08-13-2012, 11:56 PM
Sweet thanks. My clock lights up, but just doesn't show any numbers, will there be a seperate wire for this, or is the clock real basic and not connected to the ecu to keep the time? I do keep the battery disconnected as the car s not road legal yet I connect it when I'm ready to try fire it up or test radio wiring etc

hey ive got a quick question on the body harness. There is one thick black ground wire going through the entire harness. I have the connection to ground it on the passengers side dashboard frame, but i follow it back towards the fuse block and smj, and its cut about a foot away from the fuse block. I cant figure out if i cut it or if it was just like that(cant imagine it being that way) does it just ground to the frame on both ends of the thick black wire?

Yo, Photobucket fucked this extremely valuable resource. Can we get these images re-hosted or can someone supply the images to make a replacement thread please?

I have a S13 DOHC master wiring book. Lmk what you may need and I can post some.

JFC just let this thread stay dead. This was no more than pictures of the FSM which can be found online in multiple places.
