I'm all for nissan but i hate the product choices. i mean it cost alot to buy a jdm front conversion... and usdm fronts are rare and expensive to buy. What i want is to be able to go to a local place a buy a front for only hundreds not thousands. on to my disscussion is there another front that would fit without to much custom work and problems... maybe an eclipse front...

Whoa.... okay well to get a jdm front end its not always "thousands" of dollars. You can find a S13 front for as low as 600 to as much as 1000. 180sx front ends can get a little pricey but still not in the thousands, unless it the real OEM one. Which even then still does hit the 1000 mark. Just got to be a smart buyer.
Now when you say, "is there another front that would fit without to much custom work and problems... maybe an eclipse front..." maybe cause I'm drunk right now but please tell me you don't mean to put that on a 240.

1. USDM front aren't rare at all. We all have them. Every 240sx in the junkyards here in the U.S. has a USDM front. Watch the for sale forum here and go to your local junkyard because they are pretty cheap...cheaper than JDM stuff anyway....
2. It will cost you thousands of dollars to put a eclispe front on a 240...besides being the stupidest thing i ever heard of. You might be able to buy a nice used eclipse for the same price it would take to convert it....

part 1: the insults
hahaha..eclipse front end? yeah those are really hot looking  you'll earn the respect of fellow enthusiests too! they look like donkey butt. eclipse are ugly cars anyways.
part 2: the front end answer
usdm fronts are cheap cheap. i can get one for under 100. easy stuff (s13) s14 runs more but you can hutn around and find a decent rate.
japan front ends.s13 run about 600 or if you are a sucker then 1K ish.
part 3: the conclusion
do some research

I would like to see that with out a hook up and out of California. Maybe a year or two back, but common 600 bucks? 800 is the best I have found :-/

:D all depends who you know
seriously i would NEVER pay more then 800
but it can be found for cheaper. the price is high now because of dumdums goofing up the market.
think of it this way
a used silvia in japan (turbo and complete car) can be found for 200-300 USD
now think how much thta front end costs....
labor to remove it
shipping
its still wayyyy under 1K

Yeah sure, that I know. But that assumes that you can find one to buy direct in Japan and have the means to secure the transaction. I have been looking for junkyard hookups there for ever. Few places want to deal with small businesses looking for "silvia" stuff, let alone private individuals. You have to know some one....bottom line. I don't think that it is unreasonable to charge 1K for a front end. Those doing so are obviously providing a service to the rest of us who are not so lucky to have a best buddy willing to scower junkyards in japan. Those who aren't on the in pay more. That's life.
