ok...what's up too all of you guys and girls and zilvia....here's something that i would like to know that me and my friend drew were thinking about...please no more telling me i'm an idiot...and if you must criticize us please let it be constructive...well, you all probably know about the 91 - 93 mitsubishi 3000gt(gto) vr4...well, because of the engine that it has there are not to many people who offer parts...we were wondering about a skyline motor...in particular the rb26dett since they both have twin turbos, 4 wheel drive, and 4 wheel steering... it seems it would be rather simple ...expecially with with the 3000gt motor being bigger and fitting in the space of that beast...we thought that fitting a rather smaller engine would be even simpler...if i'm wrong about anything here please correct me...but just think for a second...it should still be alot less money than importing a skyline and getting it legal...so please let us know what you all think...thank you eddie/drew:cool:

isn't the gto's engine setup like a fwd with an awd tranny.
vs the rb26 setup like a rwd engine

not gonna happen without a custom tube-frame front and lots and lots of other crap (prob cost more than getting a GT-R32 from MotoRex). the ttV6 in the VR-4 is transversly mounted, and the RB26DETT is longitudinal. not to mention the inline-6 RB26DETT is probably about twice as long as the 3.0 V6tt in the VR-4.

ya i'm talking about swapping a rb26dett into a 3000gt vr4...just a thought though...and ya the rb26dett is an inline six...little different than the original motor...but me personally i like inlines better...it seems more organized...well thanks for your help.
eddie
I don't think the RB will even fit in there first of all, but I could be wrong. Second, even if it does fit, the VR4 engine is transversely mounted and the RB isnt. Good luck with the fabricaiton....

why not just get the parts off any newly junked / totaled lanevos ? i bet it is way cheaper and maybe easier that way...

it could work if u bought a skyline front clip and cut the clip off of the mitshubishi and weld the skyline clip on. don't know though just an idea

As soon as I stop counting the number of ways that's stupid, I'm gonna start yelling at you.

you wouldn't want to do that anyways, power + that car = broken tranny all over the place.
Just buy a skyline, it'll be cheaper in the end after getting that car, doing a swap, and paying for all the tranny's you'll need after that.
