Yeah, but you cant change the past. Get a new chassis, its just metal a friend of mine went through this recently. Swap everything you want over and make it even better.

who said the engine was gone? From what I see the engine is probably fine. I mean even if there is hole in the valve cover? as long as no moving parts were damaged or the head was cracked. replace valve cover, compression check and leak down test. If good call it a day.

i have an insurance but since i was the one hit them from behind it will be on me. sucks though merging lane then sudden stop. fucking annoying

That sucks man that looked like a very clean car, gl with everything :D
yeah man, car is really something to me and my VERY first car ever with clean title. thanks!

that sucks man,

just a question what kind of car/truck did ya hit? looks like you got some pretty heavy damage.

it was a freakin saturn vue. i had at least 80 ft clearance and i was rolling at 25mph

lol its a greddy strut bar and a carbon kevlar hood, i was running a stock smic. i only got liability.

Uncracked overflow tank?

Shit sucks, I don't think I could handle getting one of my cars totaled.
yea its a original uncracked overflow tank. yeah i cant believe it happened. i just finished my brake conversion and 5 lug swap 2 days ago.

holy shit man that sucks looks like it was a herd ass impact as long as your fine and healthy you can always start all over
yea im fine thanks for asking. i was only rolling 25mph

OMG Wangan! NOOOOOooooo... oh man.... I drive that road every day... Man I feel for you bro... I would be so pissed.... Just find a new chassis and replace away....

Damn motor is gone though... DAMN!!!!!
i am pissed man, i really cant believe it happened to me. i hope the engine is good since the bov punched a hole in the valve cover. radiator support was pushed back other than that it looks fine. as right now i dont know what to do next.

Sorry to hear about that bro...But...life goes on. And 240 shells are a plenty!

I recently went through this and it was for the better. I went from a KA s13 hatch to an SR s13 hatch with a handful of mods already after the accident. Insurance gave me a good amount of money and I purchased the new SR'd one a month after. Don't worry about it man. I had so much time and money into mine, but I just realized a new car can be built. A life cant.

Not to thread jack...

It sucks to hear, I'm in a similar situation... it was cold out and tires werent heated up, started sliding and off into a tree. Thats the short story. The thing that matters the most is that you're alright. After my wreck my neck and back hurt for a day or two. Nothing bad so I didnt go to the doctor, although I was going a little quicker, maybe 40 when i hit the tree.

After I got it painted this past summer...

I think it only looks bad because there wasn't a bumper support to stop most of the damage.

Here's my friends S13 that also rear ended somebody on the freeway.

After:

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii246/CrimsonRockett/0_IMAG0015jpeg.jpg

Core support drilled out from a Coupe I helped some guy scrap, sourced a couple parts in a day, old core support removed, frame straightened out just a bit where it was pushed back(by the fender), welded in the new support, bolted it back together, done and done.

Your car definitely looks fixable.

wangan_cruiser is a close personal bud of mine we always chill at meets and hang at each other's home late night...i got Mark's text within minutes after the accident....i was totally speechless and i had a very strong feeling that he wasn't joking around.

well truthfully you got lucky in the sense that it was mainly upper core support so there was no damage to the lower rails. Now the drivers side inner fender well really took it hard.

Though 1k is quite reasonable considering the damage. Its really up to you.

It could go either way. If you can find a really clean chassis for under 1k or under you might consider doing that instead and swapping your parts.
It all depends on if you would be happy just fixing it. It certainly is fixable hence the 1k quote.

1k to fix it, you got lucky!

As least your car is fixable.

Think of it as if you get another chassis instead, you have quite a bit of work ahead of you to swap everything over. Time = money.

Mine wasnt fixable....the engine and tranny was pushed back about 4 inches....ripped into the driveshaft tunnel.

Actually I didnt want the cops getting involved so I got a floor jack and pushed the crushed radiator/support away from the engine and coasted it down the mountain with no brakes and pieces falling off the whole way while fighting the bent alignment....lol about 14 miles

So g/l with your car....hopefully you have access to a parts car???
