Hello. Within the next few months I will be getting stationed in Germany. I have a 240sx and was considering swapping the KA in it for an SR but I was wondering if anyone knew if the SR was legal by EU emissions (specifically German).

S14s came stock with a blacktop SR in europe.
emissions in germany are categorized in so called E-norms. for example, a CA18DET S13 with catalytic converter is EURO1. a S14 zenki comes with a blacktop SR20DET and EGR to pass EURO2. S14 Kouki came with 2 catalytic converters, and also gets EURO2.
i drive a JDM RPS13 with a redtop SR20 and got it legal, since the pulsar GTi-R came with the same engine.
i know there are a few USDM 240s with KA's around in germany and i think those are also running under the EURO1 norm.
basically the EURO-norms are different emissions classes. like i said above, a CA18DET S13 will get EURO1, which is about 300€ in taxes per year. an S14 with euro2 will be about 180€ per year and so on, the higher the number, the less taxes you pay.
there are also S13s around that have no catalytic converter. those are about 500€ in taxes/year.
hope that helps a little.
