Long story short, I spliced in an ECU plug from an s13 to run a JWT ECU in my s14. I have the car running and most everything seemed to be working until I tried using the heat the other day. When I turned it on, I got a wisp of smoke and the smell of burning plastic from the climate control. I briefly tried various combinations of heat & A/C all of which started smoking. So, looks like I have a short somewhere, but I'm not sure where. I asked about this previously, and received some good help (http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/268734-s14-kade-s13-kade-ecu-conversion-wiring-help.html), but I was left with a question or two about how to make it work.

I made an entire spreadsheet to help with the wiring crossover, but I'm not sure where to post it at. I also used the guide here http://eformance.info/obd/obd.pdf but it doesnt cover all the wiring associated with the climate control

Here are the places I need help with.

S14 pin 9, yellow/black (was told it needs to see +7v)
s14 pin 12, orange/blue (was told it needs to see +12v)
s14 pins 13 & 14 are connected to s13 pin 9 (cooling fans)
s14 pin 15 is connected to s13 pin 11 (triple pressure switch)
s14 pin 21 is connected to s13 pin 41 (thermo control amp)

So, anyone who can shed some light on this, I appreciate your help,
Ben

any assistance is appreciated....I'm sure someone out there is running a rywire or other s14 to s13 harness conversion that could check it out for me

problem solved

I had pin 12 going to a +12v source and pin 9 going to nothing because I didn't know how to make a reliable +7v source. I cut out pin 12 so that neither pins are being used and this seems to have solved the problem. Heat works great....haven't tried the a/c yet, but I can do without it if necessary.

Thanks RDM for the help
