Wow, 2 whole cars huh?

Gee that's awful.

I mean two cars is so much worse then all the half-assed "drift missles" making the 240 community look bad. Chassis that have been around for 10-20 years to have body parts fitted, and re-fitted from DOZENS of manufacturers until they are right, versus two brand new chassis with limited aftermarket aerodynamic support.

Indeed, the world should be outraged.

Great thread.

Fucks the point of this thread? Shops who made those cars probably built 3 of them in a matter of 3 weeks.

no they have a bad rap, for building shitty cars, and shady business tactics....they had pleeennntyyy of time!!!!
and for them to bring that kind of quality work to a show like SEMA! well then that says a lot about the shop/owner...

11-15-2009, 05:36 PM
:wtf:
that is terrible. if i owned either one of those cars and they looked like i that they would be sitting in my garage til they were fixed. and these cars are at freakin SEMA?!? WOW

11-15-2009, 07:01 PM
wow OMG!

what do they expect? these aftermarket bodykit companies have the kits produced by the lowest bidder in whatever3rdworldcountry.

And the paint jobs, could have put more prep work into cracks . Probably a rush job to get out to Sema.

Those lil issues would not bother me if i owned those cars, they would be daily driven if in my possession so just those issues would actually be good lol.

Fuck both those cars. They are piles of shit. Thats the problem nowadays is all these dumbass tv shows getting cars done in 24 hours have just made everyone think they can do it. There is no excuse for that half assed work period.

I feel bad for whoever turned their cars over to those hack jobs.

BTW its SEMA for christ sake, pretty much every car there is a piece of shit. Shotty workmanship, poor quality... its right up the 240 communities alley

exactly. a lot of companies just slap these cars together in a short amount of time. expecting perfection at SEMA is pretty damn funny IMO.

SEMA is a show that everybody in the industry goes to.

Why in the HELL would you not put your full skills and perfection into a car that will be at the show?

PISS-fucking-poor work.
I guess with the influx of shit quality parts, the cars are now shit quality too.

Makes sense I guess, now that I think about it.

I would understand if SEMA was open to the public and everyone got the see the quality and craftsmenship of these cars.

But its not so i dont really care what these cars look like. Plus i havent seen any that i liked so far.

Brian
11-16-2009, 04:32 PM
And?

So, then SEMA is for people in the industry to show off what they can do for the public. I can make this body kit. I can make this brake kit. I can do this custom work. It's for the consumer in the end, right?

So, why the HELL would you not make your project PERFECT?

right?

But like I said, it seems like the general car culture is more interested in the lowest price rather than something that is made of quality.

I guess the industry has to adapt to that...

Ass backwards.

Well if it isnt everyones favorite "original" body kit company, Extreme Dimensions!!!!! :duh:

In case you forgot, SEMA is a tradeshow, not a car show. It's made for companies to display their newest product to get shops to place orders. I've seen way better wide body builds done in 8 days that made it to SEMA. I know of one shop that did 3 cars in two weeks...2 were in car manufacturer booths.

Just goes to show how much ED really puts into their product.

SEMA is land of broke shops who want to screw off. Very few people show up to "buy" new products. They just like to look and screw off in vegas. I found PRI in orlando 100x better when it comes to buying stuff. SEMA was a joke. It was like china came fast and furious jizz all over a showroom floor with lots of sparkles, strobes, and skank models. There was nothing really to buy. Just proof that with enough money, even moderate quality body shops can put together a "custom" car to showcase their "products".

Funny thread title lol.

Brian, I saw the Premier Aston Martin in the South Hall lobby. Veilside made a great kit for that car, lots of compliments.

Extreme Dimensions (aka Carbon Creations) isn't known for fantastic fitment. Conrad Grunewald's Formula D Camaro had Seibon fenders, hood, doors, and trunk rushed for SEMA, and the fitment was 9/10, almost perfect right out of the box - there is certainly a disparity in the quality of body parts made by different manufacturers, even for the same application.

As far as SEMA being an 'industry show' and not a 'car show', you think that allows people to show off inferior quality products? It's easy to fool the public, but imagine trying to pass off a bad-fitting kit or out-of-round wheel to a bunch of body kit or wheel manufacturers - you'd be laughed right out of your booth.

I agree that PRI is a more serious show, but there was still plenty of business taking place at SEMA this year.

Oh, and it is open to the public on Friday, and that's the day where you get all the clueless questions/comments, not the industry-only days.

Holley and Barry Grant.. in chapter 11

Crane dead

Rumored melling is in life support mode.

The new Chinese Dart M block..
New chinese copies of Rotler Cylinder hones and Neway Guide and Seat Machines for 65% of the cost.

Machine shop equipment and American v8 parts guys are under some serious heat.. and margins are slimmer than ever.

I'm sure import's are still a percentage but muscle is still america.. even rumored that federal mogul is getting ready to hit the courts again.

I can't imagine mahle/clevite is doing a ton better. Our orders are way off from last year.

Still looking for a turbo parts suppiler that doesn't want huge upfront orders. We need mostly bearings and seals and they want to sell new compressor wheels and main shafts.

Glad it was good for you

I need to dig out my HIN pictures then. Cars look great pitch black with strobes lighting them. Look like hell in the light. Just like the club...

Seems like people taking cars to SEMA know that they only have to look good for 10ft away cause most of their exposer is going to be in web and small pictures in magazine coverage.
Most of the cars are going to be disassembled and crushed after the show anyways. They are just marketing tools not someones dream ride. Sure there were some nice cars that people spent years on there. But, the cars posted were given out by Ford and Chevy a couple months ago like candy.

Ya those are all of the shit cars that are done, The cars that i personally think look good are the ones that these shops do one a year and take there time pay attention to detail everything is perfect unfortunately the only place you find that anymore is in hotrod part of the industry.
