NO SYNTHETIC FOR 500 MILES!

FEWL!

hehe.

You already knew as much... anyway, I don't see why you can't use 15/50... only reason you wanna use that 15/50 is cus there's two cases of that **** in the garage. :P

Go buy 10/40... :)

No synthetic oil for 100 - 200 miles since the motor is already used and technically already broken in. 100 miles is good to get the cobwebs out of there. ANYWAYS, to answer your question my friends run 10w30

ahem...you are getting bad info.

there is no problem with running synth from DAY ONE. your SR is a *used* motor and therefore has no "break-in" requirements. the only good thing about using cheap dino oil is that you can dump it in, start the car, drive it for 30 minutes, and dump it out without paying $20 to do so. but there is NO reason that you can't start with synth. I did. 100% fine.

15w50 is *not* a recommended oil for SR. If you are racing and the engine is constantly super-stressed and super-hot, consider thicker oil...for that matter, you might go with a single weight oil. BUT, for a street driven SR, you should stick with either 5w30 or 10w30. I've had equally good luck with both. The 15w50 is going to have issues with properly lubing your turbo bushings. Also, it will cause the engine to rev slower (I have run 15w50 before to compare).

cause engine to rev slower ? not sure about that one cuz i just changed my oil 2 months ago from mobil 10-30 to 15-50 and it feels great. slight difference in response cuz now its even better. seems to run smoother and healthier. i put my motor through a lot of **** so i decided to use it. i suggest use light first then go heavy if you want. and the condition and miles of your car and the way you drive your car.
