"A local American Legion Post was robbed on Veterans Day.
The thief or thieves took ceremonial guns used in 21-gun salutes and the blanks the weapons fire, and bibles that are given to the families of fallen heroes.
Canned food and a turkey collected for a Thanksgiving dinner for the needy was also stolen, along with liquor and cash.
The crime happened sometime after nine last night at the Hyde Park-Mount Lookout post.
We talked to the commander of the post about the impact this robbery has had on them."
I'm sorry but this is pretty damn low .. I'm sure these burgling douches would probably use the excuse that "times are tough" :jerkit: Really? so whats the going rate for a bible nowadays on the streets.. If and when they catch these idiots, I will gladly punch their mothers in the face.

Catch them...
Enlist them...
It's not that the military would want them, it would just teach them a lesson.

jailtime is nothing nowadays.
do a crime-
get caught-
go to jail-
get out-
do the same crime again-
go to jail again-
etc. etc.

That's an awesome phrase.
And this is just pathetic and sad.
Reminds me of when my dad's house got robbed. The dude stole his fucking Purple Heart. Why the HELL would someone steal that? This man was wounded and MIA for your stupid ass, and treated like shit when he returned and this is how you repay him? FUCK YOU.

This is why I don't think jails do anything good. The inmates are given SOOOOOOOOOO many luxuries, it's unreal.

This is very true. Prisons have very high recidivism rates when they're supposed to be "rehabilitating" these criminals. I think a prison only hardens those who are sentenced there.

On top of that, most of the time the crimnals just learn to become "better" crimnals from other people there. It's a awesome merry-go-round of ridiculousness.

Enlist them...
It's not that the military would want them, it would just teach them a lesson.
Enlist them in the Marine Corps, then have then stationed on a base
somewhere in NC where they would most likely be beaten," half to death... twice. " by someone we know.
They have crackheads in cincinatti?
Yes, and heroin is an even bigger problem here. I feel it's going to get worse once they build a Casino right next to the ghetto..
people have no shame.

Long story- Last year I helped catch a husband and wife couple in the act of breaking into cars on our street. Police found 11 stolen credit cards on the husband.. They were both charged with multiple felonies, and I was subpoenaed to court a few months later as a witness for the prosecution.. To my disgust, the charges on the wife were dismissed, this is after she pled no contest:confused:. The judge felt sorry for her, I guess 'cause she had two young kids:duh: .. The husband's attorney (to whom I had a chance to speak with) reached a plea deal, where probation with no jail time was the punishment. I forgot to mention that this douche had been convicted when he was 17 of vehicular homicide, and had spent some time in jail already.. After court, while standing in the hallway chit chatting with the officers, I asked them,"how could this couple get off so light?" They said," Here in Hamilton county, because of all the cut backs, if you haven't killed someone you most likely won't serve any time."
As disheartening as it may sound, even if they do catch them, they probably won't serve any time.. but these thieves probably already knew that as word travels fast.
Dissapointment in the world just went up by a lot.
I had mixed feelings about starting this thread, for that very reason.. I'm really am sorry for fucking up anybody's day with this news.
I will keep this thread updated if any more info breaks..

"Cincinnati Police have made an arrest in the robbery of an American Legion Post on Veterans Day.
19 year old Jame Mack of the East End is charged with three counts of receiving stolen property and is held on $75,000 bond. Officers say they found him in possession of three ceremonial rifles stolen from Post 744 in Hyde Park-Mount Lookout on Veterans Day sometime after 9 p.m. The guns are used in 21-gun salutes.
Also taken during the robbery were the blanks the weapons fire, bibles that are given to the families of fallen heroes, canned food and a turkey collected for a Thanksgiving dinner for the needy was also stolen, along with stereo equipment, liquor and cash.
The court documents do not say Mack broke into the Legion but rather, that he came into possession of the guns two days after the robbery.
The Legion has insurance but the Commander says they can't afford to pay their $2500 deductible."

This kid says that he's not the one who broke into the place  whatever, but it shouldn't take long to get him to rat on his "boys".. East End is an extremely small and low income part of town, it's also a part of town where everybody knows everybody..
