A few days ago, I had little to no pressure in the clutch, so yesterday I changed my slave cylinder. It was rusted out so it was time for a change, but I notcied as I took off the slave cylinder brake fluid did not come out of the lines as it was supposed to. I checked the brake line and it worked fine. After a few pumps, I was able to bleed the slave cylinder just fine, however, when the car is on the clutch won't engage. The master cylinder is less than a year old, so i'm not sure if that's the problem. Is there anything I can do or should i just take it into the shop?
thanks

Btw, I checked other threads on the subject, but they didn't go into specifics about the problem.

did you have someone helping you bleed the clutch? if not, it's quite possible you didn't bleed it out completely. Now would also be a good time to remove your clutch damper. (the box & loop your clutch line routes through.) Bleeding the clutch is 900% more easy once that damper is removed, and it eliminates that possibility.

sometimes when you change slave the master dies. it happenned to a friend and it happenned to me.
depends on age. why? no clue, maybe because all fluid was drained, i've no idea
just know it did on mine and a friend's.

might check it out. you can get a repair kit or a new one (new is about 60 dollars or so)

But FIRST make sure you removed that dampner box and try again.

I removed the box while I was bleeding it and had someone with me to help bleed the clutch and still no pressure. I'll try checking into the master cylinder though, that could be a good place to check.
Thanks

My slave kinda of "froze". I bled it and still didn't engage. What I had to do after that was to pull it out, stretch the pist all the way open, then bleed like that. Then I opened the bleed scrw again, fit into place and it worked.

do u mean the piston that's in the dust boot? cuz i thought that it's one size and can't be stretched?

by stretched he means pulling it out of the slave a bit ... you can move it in and out about...3 inches.
