Was just curious what type of metal would be suggested for making a bracket to mount a seat and harness bar?

in the mean time get a professinal to weld it for you. the difference will mean life or death.
a friend of mine went to a shop and had one made for around 70 bux IIRC

If you are in a class learning to weld than I would say this is boarderline ok...if you are learning to weld by yourself then this is not a project that you want to take on. Like zenki.life said it could cost you your life.
No disrespect intended, but I have been welding most of my life and I do not like to do safety equipment.

no offense, but if you're asking what kind of metal to use you're in over your head.

no it was the seat rail.

reason.......

he owned a (vomit) honda del slow(pun intended). there were no cheap mass produced LOW SEATED rails.
