does the nx n tercooler actually do all that its praised to do

i know that it will probally reduce the chances of the dreaded heat sink and all but 50 hp gains common

The numbers that are posted in advertisements are accentuated. If you are only making 200hp how do you expect to just add 50hp by just cooling your intake charge. All gains are relative. Those numbers were probally taken off of a 700hp drag car on a 90 degree day. For your standard 250-300hp turbo car you will see maybe 7-8hp possibly more on a really hot day:rolleyes:

i agree.. thats what marketers do.. they can't lie (although i think some do) so they give you results that are from a more powerful car.. or concentrated.

The $$$/hp ratio is terrible! $3 for a few extra HP for 10 seconds... Unless you race competitively, its not worth it IMO.

Personally, I think i'm going to build my own. I've got a CO2 bottle from my paintball marker already, i'll just run some hose and a valve or something. Maybe i'll go as far as a sullenoid.

my buddy with his WRX got 18hp more due to the NX-Intercooler kit.

it varies in every turbocharged cars, some have more restrictions than others. thats just how some products work.

How long do you think that lasted?

umm, i would say the system is good for 5-6 passes down the drag strip.

there is no reason to actually use it on the street unless you want to feel cool or something and watch F & F too much:p

On a car like ours with a FMIC you'll see about 5hp. I heard a test on an FMIC skyline only made like 3 more HP. Totally NOT worth the cash!

I'll believe that. WRX's run a top-mount intercooler, and are very prone to heat-sink. Heat rises from the engine to the intake charge, and nitrous would really help on that setup. On an FMIC, I really don't think that it would be a great improvement.
