Hey all, I am trying to install a new O2 Sensor into my KA. From the looks of it I think it is possible to get the old one out without removing the exhaust heat shield piece. The question is, there isn't much room to grab the O2 sensor with a wrench, plus a socket isn't going to work since the electrical cord goes right into the end.

What tool and size do I need to get this thing out? I believe it is either a 15/16 or 1" socket, but that is just guessing. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kev

I don't think a socket will fit... I have an s13 and mine has wires. I took my heat shield off a long long time ago though, it just gets in the way.

they make special o2 sensor sockets. its basically a deep socket, with a slot cut out of the side, so the wire can hang out. you can pick em up at sears.

I changed mine a month or so ago. I'm not 100% sure, but I think it was 15/16. Sprayed a little WD40 on it, gave it a couple of good whacks, and it spun right out.

cresent wrench is all you really need. once u break it loose you can just unscrew it with your hand with no problems.
