View Full Version : HICAS Leaking - What parts to replace?
Im on dialup right now so I cant DL the scanned parts in the Tech section nor do I think the parts I need are listed in there.
I took a pic of the 2 lines coming off the HICAS pump that I suspect are the cause of my leak, but of course I left my digi cam cable at the office.
Anyways, my HICAS is leaking from somewhere, Im assuming its from the Hoses since it leaks all over the Drivers side tension rods and everything in between the manifold and airbox.
So if anyone has had this problem before please tell me what parts most likely need replacing. I dont feel like taking everything apart and wiping it all down to find out. But my thoughts like I said are the two hoses that come from the HICAS pump. I will post a pic when I get a chance to stop by the office.
Asad told me Nissan dosent make those hoses anymore but I dont know if we were talking about the same thing. If you know what the part # is or where I could get some for replacement PLEASE let me know. THANKS!

That's funny! They are called banjo bolts and I busted the same ones.
Nissan does make replacements but you have to buy the whole setup and it's $300 from Courtesey:eek: I went to my local airconditioning shop and had them make me a couple of soft lines with the propper size and just used a compression fittling to attach it to the hard line before the leak. The entire setup cost me $25 bucks:D (I'm a cheap bastard)
My problem was from the SR. The alternator sits almost on top of those lines and when the engine cranked over from the tq it busted one of the hard lines

So you need the lines that go from the rear rack (on the subframe) to where it attaches to in the 2nd picture ?

Just take them to a Air Conditioning shop and have them custom make you those lines. That's what I did and it cost me a total of $30. At Nissan you can only buy the whole thing as a unit and they quoted me $260 at Coutesey

Guess I might try that. I have little faith in people doing custom work like this when it comes to my car. Might just be because here in Colorado if you want to do something custom on your car you better learn to do it yourself.
Ill do it when my car is apart for the 5 lug swap :)

Mine has held up for a year and a half so far. My problem is the altenator is too close to the lines and when the engine torqued over it busted the hard line. Those are pretty standard fittings and if the A/C shop is worth anything they should be able to fab up high pressure fittings to withstand the 60psi of pressure those lines can put out
