help with sr20 ECU

well while i was looking at my ecu in my sr20 coupe i noticed this .

can anyone tell me what this dose .

you mean the knob you can turn? if you turn it all the way clockwise, its for diagnosis mode. thats for checking codes. counterclockwise is just for normal operation
