The temps just dropped pretty drastically in my area. I had let my car sit for a couple of days and it started reluctantly and ran a little rough. I ended up shutting if off and doing a couple of times until it would only crank over. Took the plugs out and let them dry off, put them back in and no problems since. What methods or products do you guys use or do to help out with cold weather starting? Im going to stock up on bottles of fuel antifreeze/water remover in the morning.

Its the battery that needs the warming up. Batteries don't like working in the cold. Once heard somebody say that u should pee on it, but I wouldn't do that.

What kind of engine do you have? If its an sr i had the same problem. I had to sit in my car and crank it for aprox. 5 min until it would start up. Ended up being not enough power going to an ecu wire.

you guys got fucked up motors.

i have a redtop SR from a 91 silvia probably with like 70-80k miles on it. shit starts up like a champ every time, hot, cold, freezing, hell last winter i had icicles forming on the inside of my windshield and started right away.

you guys need to check your timing. when i first had the motor, it would crank like 5 times, die, then i'd turn it to start again, then it'd start right awy.

adjusted timing, and ever since it starts right up.

I have a KA and I live in VA. My timing is on point, nothing wrong with the motor, it was rebuilt about 30K ago. Who knows what the problem was, I'll just chalk it up to the fuel that the local gas stations hasn't changed up to winterized fuel yet and the temp dropped rapidly, its been a non issue for me ever since.

when i was living in MT, it would get cold regularly. Below 20 every night and in the morning the SR would take maybe a second or two extra to start, but it would catch. Then occasionally it would idle a bit funky until you either revved it or let it warm up a bit. Honestly though it was never anything I was concerned about. I lived in cold areas for most of my life and every car I ever had shared similar symptoms when it got cold out. If its starting and running I would say you're fine. Throw some HEET in the gas tank along with some injector cleaner and call it a day. That usually helped me out a lot.
