well took the valve cover off of my recently-purchased SR, and the shiny links on the timing chain are 3 or 4 links ahead of the punch marks on the cam sprockets. roommates called it "jumped timing" (domestic guys :D ). i am on a tight budget now, especially since i still need to get some IC piping bent, and was going to just correct the timing on that chain (got engine from reputable local shop). I've been told to just suck it up and get a new timing chain/timing chain kit. Anyone know where I can get this? the shop i got the engine from should be able to get it, but I didn't get a chance to call them during business hours today.

anyways, lemme know. thanks.

I thought the SR used a timing belt. . .

Afraid I can't tell you where to get the kit, though.
