So the car/motor i bought came with a tuned ecu (#62). the problem is neither myself nor the previous owner knows what the hell its tuned for. the best answer he could give me was that it "gives WAY more horsepower"......smh. anyways, would it be possible to just rip off the daughterboard thats installed to bring the ecu back to stock? i've provided a pic below, think i could just rip the ribbon off the solder points on the main ecu board?

on the other side of the ecu move the jumper back to the original spot.
should be the only with different looking solder.

the chips on the mother board are removable maybe if u took them out it will go back to stock. just use a flat head and carefully pry them off

oh no i guess the way i wrote it sounds sarcastic i was being serious and wanna know the conclusion cuz i have a rom tune as well.
plus i only just was thinking about it cuz its better to take those out first rather than desolder the whole daughterbourd u know?
lemme know how it works

oh ok well in that case my apologies for calling you out. so i assume you meant to say pull the chips off the daughterboard, and not the motherboard, right? i'd be willing to try that, but i wanna try what lok mentioned first. i have a feeling that if the circuitry is still routed to the daughterboard (via the jumper pins) the motor will cease to function properly if you pull the chips out, since there won't be any maps available. ill try to keep the thread updated

I have the same issue, I called up a shop though and they said they would have to put the car on a dyno in order to find out what was really on the board. Dyno's are expensive if you just want to find out whats on the board so I didn't do it but just an idea.

if you wanna find out whats on the board there are people who can connect them to their computers and tell you what its tuned for.
never know u might have some gold in your hands.
if u want a stock ecu i would just trade with someone if i were u
