Yesterday:
1. Was driving normally, then I noticed the engine suddenly lost power and cut out as the revs dropped. I clutched in instantly out of instinct and popped it back up and then it started up fine.
2. Two minutes later this happened again, except dropping the clutch didn't help. Car died at the red light and couldn't crank over so I waited about a minute and started it up again and it ran just fine.
Today:
1. Was driving again, and engine cut out again while revs dropped so I popped the clutch and it ran fine again.
2. Died again, roll start worked fine.
3. 15 minutes later, same shit. Couldn't do the roll start this time and I died in the middle of the road. Tried cranking it again but it wouldn't turn over, had to wait a few minutes before it would turn over.
4. ... same shit. No roll start, wouldn't crank. Fired up after a few minutes but died right away. Waited a few more minutes and it started up fine.
I sputtered my way to my gf's house and parked the car for a couple hours. When it came time to go home, it started up fine and had no problems going home.
I suspect it's the fuel pump since it kinda bogs before it cuts out. The previous owner did the swap so I have no idea if he changed the fuel pump at all. Chassis has roughly 240,000 KM's.
Also, it might be worthy to note that it would backfire once before it does on several occasions.
Any suggestions as to where the problem lies?
