Is this correct?
I thought all s14 t28's were ball bearing.
Can anyone confirm this?

the s14 T28 is a journal bearing just like the s13 T25.

if you read it, it would have told you that some S14 T28s have ball bearing and some have journal bearings

Yeah i did read that.
It's saying that the kouki has BB and the zenki is JB.
This is the 1st time I've read that the s14 wasn't BB.

I can be either.
Just throw it away if its bad or sell if its in good condition and step up to a real GT28 series (53.8mm turbine wheel) or bigger BB turbo.
T28 turbos with a 53mm turbine wheel are actually GT25 series... downgraded....

So are you saying step up to a gt2871r?

Yes.
The GT2871r is a great choice of medium frame performance turbos that bolts on and gets the job done. Fast spool to power and around 400hp support make this a nice 1st step upgrade to the s15 t28. Many options for wheels, compressor and turbine housings available to suit your needs.
If you are looking for bigger power, go with a GT30 series.
Remember, to see the full potential of any turbo or even na engine setup, matching components and of course a real good dyno tune is required. Just by bolting on a bigger turbo or turning up the boost may make more power, but I promise you will never see the full potential without tuning....
