I was just wondering how much time and money would take to convert S13 LHD to RHD?

No one has ever done it before. This is a totaly new concept and there is no information ANYWHERE on the internet telling you what is required.

compromise and do the mclaren center seat conversion. its easier to do and you get that cool race-car feel

Most RHD conversions have problems and rarely do people get everything to work as they were designed to... so do like me and buy a real one :p fuck conveted

on a side note I have a friend that has an entire RHD silvia chassis harness, that would make your life amazing, all you'd need is a RHD engine bay harness and there would be no wiring required (well so long as you had a stock SR harness not one that has been converted)

why do you want to convert it?
Speaking from experience, RHD gets played very fast. If it were possible to find a LHD chassis in the same condition as my RHD chassis, I would have stayed LHD. It's a pain in the ass for daily driving, and you get lots of unwanted attention.
I'd say don't do it, but ultimately it's your car. Do what you want.

I owned a soarer for over a year and the RHD was hardly a pain in the ass for daily driving. Unless you are making left turns at busy intersections constantly I don't get whats so much different about the two. Not to mention RHD makes parrallel parking a breeze.

I converted a s13 to RHD for a member on here. Picked up a front clip for about $200 it had everything we needed. (firewall, pedals and brackets, dash, dash bar, all trim, steering rack, bmc, wiper assembly etc.) I had to lengthen a few wires and do the normal fabrication (firewall, pedals/brackets, wiper assembly). However it came out the cleanest RHD conversion i have seen. Cost a total of about $250 and took about 2-3 days.

in all i prolly have a week or two's worth of work in mine but i transferred everything including the wipers and anything else that was 240 to 180.
it hasn't cost me anything but welding wire but thats because i have everything to do it and i had the clip laying around from a motor swap i did for a friend. if your doing it to be jdm tyte just give up now, cause its not worth it. i started mine cause i blew my engine, knew that i was going to tear everything down to stitch weld the car and figured id see if i could complete a rhd swap as well(ive always wanted to know if i could do it) personally after im done ill prolly have to find another car to drift cause im not left handed lol. i have driven my buddies jzx90 chaser and i could really get the hang of it. i just think its going to be fun going through the drive through at jack in the box backwards lol

I was under the impression the conversion could not be completed with no less then 5 capacitors, can someone clear this up to avoid further confusion?

I'm with you on that one. BUT, DD is not a pain for me. Cops do like to pull you over for "routine inspections"...
I bought a 180sx because all the 240's in Quebec are rust buckets/all rotten for almost the same price as a 180sx... Hello drift tax.
If you wanna hop on the RHD ban wagon and have time to spare, do it.
Or you could just sell your car and buy a real RHD Silvia/180.

How bad are you at driving where you have troubles parallel parking a 2-door sport compact? Fuck my 3/4 ton extended cab silverado is even a breeze to parallel park.
DD'ing a RHD is a pain. It's not impossible, merely annoying. IF you don't need RHD, then there's no use in spending the money and time to get it done.

Its crazy how many people say thats its a pain to DD a RHD car. My 180sx was no harder than a LHD car once i got familiar with it. Now i prefer RHD. But its whatever you wanna do. If you wanna spend the cash to do it then by all means DO IT!!

Wow, a RHD 240SX project on an Acura board. Those kids on there must be soaking their shorts. Poor bastards.
The conversion is not difficult for anyone with a brain, the parts, and some time. The point of it though is stupid as hell in a country where everything remotely possible is on the lefthand side of the car. It's a weak fanboy fad that should have died two decades ago.

What are your reasons for wanting RHD? Have you ever driven a RHD? Because it's a pain in the ass, you can't pass anyone unless you have a passenger, left hand turns make you want to kill yourself. RHD makes sense for a vehicle that is made in a country where you drive on the other side of the road. It's not a good idea in the US.
