Yeah I remember that cartoon. I did not understand it a whole lot because I was also about 14-15 when it came out. I believe it aired on USA.

It still airs on Comedy Central during the early morning around 3-4am.

WEIRD SCIENCE was the best....
I remember after watching that episode I wanted my own personal magic computer genie. I thought how it was gay how that short nerd programmed her so they couldn't have sex wit her:rolleyes: She was sooo hot. Duck Tales was aite, Goof Troops was a lot better

arggh I used to hate TMNT (the cartoon at least) it was sch a deviation from the Eastman and Laird comic. (almost Mange styuled at least in the artwork) the comic was alot darker than the silly cartoon. but the first movie reminded me of the comic more. I still have like all four graphic novels of the original books. :)

How could no one mention speed racer? I got the DVDs at best buy last week, and it took me back for real... (BTW, does anyone know the original name of speed racer when it was still in Japan?)
My other faves were always:
Silverhawks
Thundercats
Tom & Jerry (my 6-year old niece doesn't laugh as hard as I do now)
Voltron
GI Joe
... and countless others I can't remember right now. Hell, I see now that most of us still watch cartoons in our adulthood and enjoy them more than we did as children.

Ninja Turtles OWNZ!!! i had all 3 VHS tapes and am working on getting all 3 on DVD. :D the cartoon was very different from the comic. i remember that in the comic they actually did a ninja-style hit on some guy, with blood and slashing and whatnot. very different.

pirates of the dark water was good. the drawing style kinda sucked, tho.

ducktales was the SHYT! who wasn't envious of Uncle Scrooge's money bin filled with gold coins that u can swim in? too bad some of the characters in ducktales defected to darkwing duck. those bastards!

has anyone ever seen bucky o' hare or superhuman samurai cyberzords? those were prty kewl back when.

all the remakes out today blow gigantic donkey balls. the new he-man, ninja turtles, voltron, transformers could never compete with the originals. the new transformers can't beat the old transformers transformation sound! *URRR-EEE-II-IIII* :D

Duckman was cool, but i only saw a handful of episodes because i could never remember when it was on and cuz cable tv was terminated

Other awesome shows i watched back in the day:
Mr Rogers' Neighborhood - RIP Mr. Rogers, loved the trolley
Robocop - anyone else remember it? it was a cartoon
TNMT - Donatello was my favorite, i was a mutant turtle for 2 consecutive years for Halloween
Transformers - Robots in disguise!
He-Man - Skeletor was a badass and i thought Conan the Barbarian was a poser
Batman - I'm talkin bout the OG one starring Adam West. Duh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh BAT-MAN! BAM! POW! Catwoman was hottie for sure. I never forget a pussy-cat. ROWR. :D

Aphrodite A from Mazinger Z, iirc she was probably the first female robot in a cartoon.

Yup memories man. Transformers was the best, I used to be able to talk like Soundwave, but I still can make all the transforming noises. I wonder if anyone noticed that there were different ones for certain types of robots? :p

OMG DUDE!!!!!

Aphrodite! dude you found that!! crazy!!!! ! im dying over here!! good stuff great find!
yeah soundwave and shockwave had the coolest voices. the little robots had the faster higher pitched the noise slowed down and got deeper the bigger the robot. (Primes was the longest for a long time till like Scorpponok and Metroplex came on.

and since you like soundwave...

It was some cartoon where this young captian and his freakish looking crew were out to find some jewels to get rid of this "dark" water, which look like oil but had the power to grab you and kill you.

I used to be an animation major at my old school...

that would own! We'd just rent really old 80's cartoons and watch forever.... i think a place called vidiots or something has a bunch of goodies like HE-MAN... "I have the power!"

what no love for GEM? Carebears? Popple? G.I. JOE!? Denver the last dinosaur? Dino-Riders!? and dont even make me talk about megaman, and super mario.....

I hope everyone now realizes that they seriously need to pay some respect to MR. T because for me, he symbolizes everything that was and will ever be the 1988 saturday morning...

EDIT: I'm sooo sorry I forgot one of my favorties of all time...
Ghostbusters!

EDIT2: Oh an WUZZLES! wuzzles rock!

youre all forgetting Centurians, Silverhawk, the ALF cartoon, Shirt Tails, the Raccoons, Heathcliff, Pound Puppies, Muppet Babies, a Pup named scooby doo, Snorks, She-Ra had her own cartoon too i think, and David the Gnome (i didnt watch it that much). theres probably more, but thats all i could come up with right now. i have most of this **** on tape too, cause my grandparents used to send it to (us) when (we) lived in Morocco.

oh and back to the topic at hand, yeah i used to stay up and watch Weird Science and Duckman all the time. i LOVED wierd science.

I remember David the Gnome...that show was great. Granted, I was |--| about that big, but still.

What was Silverhawks about? I have this very vague memory of a cartoon kind of like thundercats with the animal-people thing going on, but they morphed a little to, one was a dolphin or shark or something?
It's entirely possible this is some random dream from my childhood that I just recognize as real too. Any names for it? Silverhawks kinda rang a bell, when did they stop airing it (year)?

Yep, Dungeons & Dragons. Fox had it back on Saturday mornings only a couple of years ago. I remember turning on the TV early one day and being very surprised to see that ancient cartoon on. :)

Of course, if some channel was still showing Starblazers or Robotech, I'd probably be setting up my VCR to record those on a daily basis... :D Maybe I'll pony up the cash for the Starblazers DVDs. That show was/is awesome. Classic old-school anime.

I've got a few more obscure shows in my head to challenge you with, but I'm having a tough time finding images.
