When I'm using my wipers, the drivers side wiper will suddently stop, start making a grinding noise, and the passenger wiper keeps on going. After disassembling to get to the linkage, the internal linkage is undone from the passenger side linkage. I can pop it back on (like a half ball-joint) and it works for a few days, until it pops back off.

Should there be something that keeps the two linkage arms (not wiper arms, but the linkage arms) together? I definitely didn't see a boly going through there. It's not like I can glue it together, since it pivots.

It's easy to fix, but it sucks when your on the freeway in a huge rain stop and you have to pull over and get drenched for 5 minutes while you fix it.

I looked through the FSM and I couldn't find the diagram of the linkage either.

The ball/socket design wears out eventually, it's just plastic. Replace it.

Do you know if you can get them new, or do I need to hit up a junker?
Thanks!

Still should be available new. call the dealer and ask. Or, search Courtesy's site.

How do you get the new rod/link on?

I got the old one off with a bunch of tugging, but I could not get the life of me get the new bushing to "click" onto the existing brass colored nipple. I was hitting it with a hammer and putting all my weight into it. I made sure both the bushing and nipple were clean.

Granted I was doing with with everything fully assembled and the hood partially in my way.

I also tried to remove the black bolt that holds the wiper arm but it didn't budge. All it did was twist the wiper arm.
