Low hanging exhaust

I've narrowed my exhaust choose to:

Circuit Sports dual tip 3" (http://www.240sxmotoring.com/cispdutip3ca.html)

Reinhard dual outlet

Buddy Club Spec II

RSR exmag

Do any of these exhaust hang unusally low? I was looking for a system that was designed tightly against the chassis.

the circuit sports is based around a more factory design, and usually sits up there pretty nicely.

now remember, that hangers can often play a major factor when you're exhaust hangs too long.

i have that exhaust on my s13. it is pretty low where the mid pipe meets the rear section.
my car isn't as low as alot of others here, and it is still very close to the ground.
other than that, it's a nice system. it even sounds pretty good too.

The Circuit Sports one and the RS*R ones hang REALLY low if your car is slammed. But then again, they make the most bearable sound out of your choices.

BC Spec 2 tucks up real nice and high as well as the Reinhard provided you get the non-resonated version. Both are just straight 3" pipes though with enlarged tips so keep that in mind.

I have Tein HE's set too the lowest possible w/ Greddy TI-c exhaust and it mostly scrapes the flange where the mid-section to exhaust section. But I also used bands the hangers to bring the exhaust up.

Becareful if you do this, I would advise using a downpipe w/ a flexible section. Or else it could put alot of stress and crack your header or downpipe.

buy w/e u want and go to a muffler shop and fix it.
i went custom on my 240 with magnaflow muffler. my shit never scrape cuz its higher up than the frame rails

if your worried about the exhaust hanging low either buy urethane exhaust hangers....or

If you want a quick fix or just trying not to spend money on urethane exhaust hangers, get some worm gear hose clamps from your nearest auto parts store and wrap them around your existing hanger bushings and crank down on them. Done

I did this and I don't use the trasmission exhaust hanger. No more low exhaust.

i ordered the c/s hangers at the same time, and my exhaust is still pretty f---n low. i prob won't make my car any lower because of it. i will take pics later for the op.

I have a BC spec 2, it sits nice accept where the test pipe meets the rear section, thats the lowest point, but i just put hose clamps on my exhaust hanger bushing and tightened them up and it sits damn near even with the frame rails now, but for a while i was pissed cause it dragged on everything, but thats probably cause my car is just about on its ass haha

i just made this for a friends car ans mine, raises the bracket so you can use the rubber hanger but wont scrape on anything

Ok, from gauging from responses the BC spec II hangs the highest.

I'm reading mixed responses about the RsR. Some say it's low others say it's high? Any confirmation on that?

I guess the circuit sports hangs the lowest. Getting poly mounts will be a must for either system I pick up.

Don't forget you can usually get the muffler of your choice separate and get it custom fitted.

I love the buddy club Spec II, Im tired of my fart can. I forgot the name of the damn place but they sell super tight hangers that pulled my catback a lot closer to the chassis, they are universal...shit I cant think of it & its gonna bug me

You can raise the exhaust higher by simply using hose clamps.

$530 for a exhaust like that? Psch. No thanks. Not when you can make something to your own specs for around $200.

Both very good ideas, but I can't weld for shit. Plus the shops in my area can't do any better anyways, so bolt on is my best bet.

For those with hose clamps on your rubber hangers, does it shorten the life of the rubber mount by using hose clamps?

That's pretty sad if the people who are out there suck at doing their trade.

No, it doesn't shorten their life. It actually breathes new life into the old ones since after age they sag. So adding the hose clamp brings the exhaust back up to the body and keeps the exhaust in place; no wiggling like a floppy donkey dick.

Im having a hard time telling where you bolted that custom hanger, is it above the muffler? If so i would definatly be interested in buying one if you would make another since the hanger above mine rusted and broke of.

i have matt powers custom exhaust that sits so nicely against frame rails that there is no way it will scrape... 3" all the way with dual tip... pm if interested

I have the buddy club spec II and it sits higher then the frame rails, it may be because I have a custom Y pipe but before I did my engine swap it sat level or justtttt above the frame rails.

I have a resonated Reinhard and I'm having the hangers cut and re-welded in order to give me more clearance. The resonator isn't even the lowest part, it's the bend right after it that is the lowest point in the system. Whatever, even having to modify it, it is worth having the super-deep tone and styling.

Since u guys are talking about low hanging exhaust's I have a Q...I ordered a blitz nur spec r system for my s13 and I'm wondering how low will that one hang, I'm hoping not lower than my stock exhaust cuz I'm riding on megan street coilovers and its pretty low and my stock one Scrapes all the time..what will I have to do if it does sit low? (I hope not) /:

You can re-weld the hangars and modify the bumper to raise it up a bit.

If your stock exhaust was scraping you may want to take a look at your exhaust hanger bushing that may be worn out. Replace them with polyurethane if you haven't already.

Yea, I'm liking this exhaust the most because of the stock looks but it is getting harder to find since it's been discontinued.
