Ok, after searching and searching, I cannot seem to find how much the stock pistons on from the KA24DE weigh. I can find mass specs for all the aftermarket forged ones, but none for the stock ones. Even tried calling the parts guy at the dealership - no data for weight. So if anyone has a decent scale and some stock pistons laying around or knows the mass of the stock pistons, chime in.

this is a wierd way of lowering your unsprung weight lol.

LOL- i guess except since it's on the engine it's sprung weight at that point. The point of lighter pistons and rods is to reduce reciprocating mass and lower the internal stresses of the engine. It also would allow the engine to rev faster by using less power to accelerate the pistons which gives you more power for other things.

I can check this for you tomorrow. Do you want individual weight for each component such as piston, pin/clips and rod?

~506g's

Big decrease considering the Lightest piston you can get w/o going custom is 317g (Not sure if that includes pin or not)

I assume you are referring to the Arias kit #3520520 KA24DE piston set for Naturally Aspirated and NOS applications. The cr is 10.6 with stock head and gasket configuration.

FYI
Just talked with Beeri @ Arias and he confirmed 317g is the Piston weight only. The wrist pin is good up to 20 psi and the weight of the wrist pin is 105 grams, with clips at 2-3 grams.
