i was wondering. if i cut off the head flanges of an aftermarket sr20det exhaust manifold and weld head flanges to fit the KA24de. will it fit? will the exhaust ports align?

I don't no the answer for sure one way or another, but this is what I got.
The stock ka manifold is cast iron; means hard as **** to weld and modify. Only thing that would stop it from working is alignment issues with the ports and flange, and diameter differnce of the ports and flange.
On a side note, that manifold looks a little sketchy. Says for sr20det nissan 240sx GTI, and then says "Now your 240sx can be turbocharged just like they are in Japan."

In theory, sure. You need to find out the dimensions of that manifold (looks like there may be problems with that one), and then the exhaust port spacing on the SR and KA. If they are the same, go measure out your engine bay, and figure out if that mani will hit the strut tower. Then, figure if it'll clear the hood. If both are good, it's a go.

I too have seen that manifold on ebay, and Ive even emailed them and asked them if they could make me one with a KA flange, and they never bothered to email me back. If you wanna compare the spacing, just buy a KA24DE and SR20DE exhaust manifold gasket...and compare them. Hell, the guy at AutoZone may even bring you both of them down from the parts rack and let you compare them. I've seen KA pattern header flanges on ebay from time to time also ($40-$60)....which could be used with that turbo manifold you found...assuming the port spacing is the same. You'd need to weld on a flange for an external wastegate tho....and on that tubular manifold you'd have to pick your spots carefully.....away from a seam.

Many shop including us(Mckinney Motorsports) have KA manifolds and there a lot cheeper and easier than cutting a SR and trying to make it fit..

KA = 89 mm bore
SR = 86 mm bore
I don't have bore spacing info, but just by looking at these numbers, I'd say it's HIGHLY unlikely that the exhaust ports will match up on these motors. I know my SR is quite a bit shorter than a KA.
Comparing gaskets would be an easy check though. I just can't figure out why you'd want to go to all this trouble to fit a crappy manifold on your car. Tubular manis only work well if you get the expensive ones with NICE welds and THICK tubing. You're better off getting a RevHard mani that's designed for your KA. The cast iron construction will last longer and provide a much more stable mounting point for your turbo. And if you haven't held a turbo...they are HEAVY.
Just some things to think about.

How much you guys sell your KA turbo manis for? How are they made (cast/tubular)?

All street are made from weld-el similar to cast but weldable and resist cracking. $450 for interlal waste gate and 475 for external. or you can weld on your own...We need year of the motor, car and turbo flange..

You cant compare gaskets. The KA exhaust gaskets are separate, and they hang singly off the studs.
