take off your brake master cylinder, and try adjusting the rod on your brake booster. i had the same problem a few years ago and that fixed it

does the push rod just spin or do you have to pull it then turn or what? I checked the fsm, no such luck.

does it lock up after you brake or is it locked up at all times
I'm having the same problem.
I've changed the brake booster, master cylinder, and brake booster check valve. All at the same time.
It used to lock up only at high speed sprints, and stop and go traffic. Now, it's just driving it locks up.
I'm thinking it's pulling too much vacuum but I don't know how to check how much vacuum it's pulling, and how much it should pull.
I'm having to pull the vacuum hose from the check valve on the booster side to release the brakes. So, I'm guessing it's retaining vacuum on the booster side.

What locks up? Front, rear, both? Are you saying that when you let go of the pedal it keeps breaking, or that when you hit the breaks you lock the tires up?

the fronts on my 240 would lock up after about 20 min of driving. i replaced the master, then the hoses. it ended up being the calipers sticking on. make sure the calipers you got are good.

yeah when I stop and let off the pedal and then go to press it down again, the brake pedal doesn't go down at all.

is there a way to adjust the pushrod from under the dash? I undid the locknut but I don't see how to shorten it. Is there any specific site that can help me with this? Maybe even pics?

That doesnt' sound like the MC adjustment. That just fixes mushy pedal/free play in the pedal. Basically how far you have to puch the pedal before you start getting engagement. That deffinately sounds like the caliper(s) seizing up.

Yeah I just replaced the master cylinder. I think I just need to adjust the pushrod or something is wrong with the brake booster, I just replaced everything else.

my whole point is that it was adjusted and it won't disengage!

Ok, then try backing the rod off, if it works then that was your problem.... Look in the FSM, it covers how.
