Well I am in the midst of my 5 lug swap and brake upgrade.
The rear hubs seem to be pretty well fused with the upright. I have removed all 4 bolts as well as the 36mm axel nut. However the hub is still stuck tight. I think that all the years of heat and rust have fused the 2 (if such a ting is possible). The axle moves in and out freely and there is nothing else that I can think would holding them together. I am going to remove the axel next, and take the BFH to the hub to break it lose. If any one has any tips or tricks for breaking these lose please let me know :-D

there are 4 bolts and the axle bolt
to pull it off you need to try a few things
1: try and pull the hub off. maybe hit it with BFH a bit to 'break' it loose (not break in reality break like snap in 2 but break the rust free--if any)
2: liquid wrench that mofo. drown it
3: last resort: drop the diff, use axle puller and push axle out. the hub willl now drop free

Axel slides in and out with just thumb pressure so it is the splines are not rusted to the axel. That should come out easy, doubt I will even need an axel puller. The more I think abou it I think that having the axel in there absorbes some of the blow from the BFH instead of letting the rust between the hub and upright take the shock. I think if I remove the axel I should just be able to give it one good wack and break it lose.

ya should work
this is off s14/s13 right? not like a z subframe/upright..just wnat to make sure. z has extra bolt at top (top top) of upright/hub for the ebrake stuff.....that bolt was a PITA to get off. i'm glad i had an extra subframe to use or it would have NEVER come loose!!
yah liquid wrench it, wd40, whatever to get it loose. if you dont care about the hub then set something up to hit it hard from top and break it.
just dont crack your upright :)

the hub and upright on the car are the stock s13. I was relieved to find out that the 27 mm bolt on the z upright is only used for the ebrake assy and is not on the s13 upright (even though the hole is). I had to take the whole Z32 hub and upright to a garage and have them use an air gun to get that one loose.
I am really surprised how stuck this thing is. I let it soak in wd40 over night, couldn't find my liquid wreanch :(.
Anyway thanks for the input.

ya
if you let it soak thatlong
drop the diff, remove the axle and hit it out
if no luck, might want to take off the upright (DONT MOVE THE ECCENTRIC BOLTS LOCATED ON THE SUBFRAME) just unbolt it from the car and examine it. see what is going on
as long as you removed the 5 bolts, it should come off relatively easiyly
i just heavily stress NOT to remove the arms or change the eccentric bolts on the subframe. the parts that bolt to the upright have no eccentric bolt and you WONT be changing your car's alignment.

i know this is very old, but this is not working for me. if i wack this hub any harder with this hammer i am afraid i am going to do damage to the bearings. any other suggestions?

i just did this the other day. use a rubber mallet to the backside of the hub and just whack it till it comes out. i sprayed wd40 all over it but i hear pb blaster(not sure if its the right name?) works a lot better.

Why not go rent a Hub Puller from Schucks or Autozone? Yes I know this hub is different but this same tool will work for your car.

^^ i think that's the best solution ! but what i did was... 1st axle nut, then i took the 4 bolts out in the back...after that i tried to hammer it loose but not enough leverage...so i was lucky and had a worn rotor sitting around and flipped it backwards bolted it on and hit that bitch out !!
