just a thought out of the blue...you think its possible i could wire this up to my gauge cluster and have it work? im guessing no because it would send a different signal from the engine...but i could be wrong....any help would be appreciated...

I would have to agree. Speed sensors could be swapped out (if necessary), but the tach probably could not be calibrated high enough to match the 4cyl reading. It's worth a shot if you've got the gauge cluster sitting around though!
