Abu Dhabi F1 track video lap | Yas Island onboard video | F1 Fanatic - The Formula 1 Blog (http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2009/10/15/abu-dhabi-f1-track-first-video-lap/)
brand new circuit, F1 will hold the final race of the season there.. dam look at how long the pit exit is.. its gonna make the race borring imo, wide as hell too. All these new tracks to pop up within recent years are just soo industrial looking.. Theres not much elevation change, mostly flat.

the united arab emirates is crazy!
so abu dhabi is a completely different city from dubai right?

Yeah, different city.
Both are in the the UAE.
About that track,
It's probably a lot more fun with higher powered car.
I wouldn't want to take something like a stock miata there.
The section after turn 8 (or after the 2nd straight) looks pretty hairy.
The UAE is a cool place for building an awesome track like that.

that track looks terrible. i can count three easy overtaking areas, all coming at the end of straights. there are too many chicanes. that race is going to be boring as hell (like all f1 races these days), and there will only be about 6 people there to watch it. i hate the fia and f1 management.

It looks like it's going to be a fast track, but there are very few places for overtaking...

There are like 3 straight sections.
Idk about F1 (never could get into that, not condemming it),
but if there was an HPDE event, I would be very happy with areas to pass.

Those guys should just buy their own country that is more fun to live in.

Weird design. A lot of high speed, as well as a lot of technical. So I'd imagine its going to favor the kers cars. Though Force India's chassis has pretty good speed as well.

people like to see f1 cars hit 200mph. it's going to be interesting.

Yup, Abu-Dhabi is the capital but Dubai got the headstart as far as tourism goes. I lived out there for 6 yrs in the early to mid 90s and Dubai started the tourism boom in UAE because they figured that they didnt have as much oil as Abu-Dhabi. So they invested alot of their money to get ready for it, invested heavily into attracting tourist and banking (trying to be the next HK). IIRC, they said Dubai has enough oil reserves until 2012.

The whole place seems so futuristic, it looks like they should be podracing there.

The track looks like a decent challenge but the whole place seems to lack personality to me.

Should be a cool ass race tho just because they are starting right b4 sunset, so the race will start during day and progress into night real fast, gonna be tough because you gotta factor in the sunglare in drivers eyes during sunset. and usually they have different helmet visors for night/day.
I will be watching. My gps says we should be pulling in to dock the yacht up, just in time for the start of the race.

they where talking about the air beats up the cars because i guess theres crap or sand in the air and its pitting up the cars nose.

Shit, you know why theyre running at dawn? You have any idea how hot it is out there when the suns up? You're looking atleast 120 degrees with 99% humidity. I remember living there where after 8 oclock, you cant take a shower because nothing but scalding water comes out.

all the new racetracks seem boring to me...they look more like theme parks than racetracks if you ask me.

what the hell...that track has no soul. it's only purpose is to make money and show the world that arabs have no idea what to do with all their money.

Actually I heard it was an evening race not a morning race. Its just being televised early Ray, because of time zone's.
Plus beyond being the season ending race. Both Championships were decided two weeks ago in Brazil. Ya for Jenson Button new World Champion and Bravo for Brawn on the constructors.

bring on 2010!!! new teams, USF1, Alonso @ Ferrari, Bruno Senna @ Campos *wanna see how he will do* etc
not excited about Button but we did see him perform pretty good today, he wanted to fight for the position.
that Alguersuari incident sucked for him tho, rookie mistake, but easy to happen since Toro Rosso and RedBull look dam identical.
