does anyone have any tips on the wireing that would help me with the install when it comes to making everything work

don't be ghetto on the wiring, pay money to have it done right, or get longer wires and solder them down.

learn to solder too, this way you won't get as many cold solder joints.

read wiring diagrams, trial and error sucks. label your wires before you let go of them.
