"Mad Max", and "The Road Warrior", but not crappy-*** "Beyond Thunderdome". The first two were cool because they really did just drive junk around the outback and they cost something like $10k each to make.

"The Big Hit" always cracks me up. It's just a personal favorite, not particularly an excellent movie... it's just one that I can watch whenever it's on and laugh. And, it almost goes without saying... China Chow + schoolgirl outfit = meow :D

"Six String Samurai" is a cool indie film about... well, it's hard to explain, but it has guitars, swords, communists, cannibals, and the devil. That's worth watching if you're into that sort of thing.

Anything written/directed by Ethan and Joel Coen. Someone already mentioned "The Big Lebowski", but you can't forget "Fargo" or "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" or "Raising Arizona".

"The Jerk". Classic Steve Martin. HE HATES THESE CANS!!!!!

Anything with Spike Jonze involved. The same guy that directed all those great Beastie Boys music videos also directed "Being John Malkovich", and starred in "Three Kings". He's also all over "Jackass: The Movie"

"The Blues Brothers". One of very very few GOOD film adaptations of SNL bits.

Speaking of adaptiations of sketch comedy... "The Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy". It's made from monkey cum!

And who could forget the "Evil Dead" series including "Army of Darkness"? Bruce Campbell is another person that pretty much automatically makes anything cool.

-Manhunter
-Red Dragon (Same as above, just a remake)
-Silence of the Lambs
-Skip the Hannibal, it wasn't too good

Oh, and then:

wasnt too good?!?!? HAnibal sucked ricer monkey balls! that movie was horrible!!! i still haven seen red dragon after i saw how bad they butchered Hanibal. I read all three books back when Silence of the Lambs first came out. the BOOKS will give you nightmares. SOTL was a GREAT adaptation of the book. I think Hunt for Red October is the only movie transfered better IMO. but Hanibal omg that was a travesty. the screenwriter should be bitch slapped and thrown down several flights of stairs with really sharp objects in his pockets then kicked back up them.
