I was looking in picking up a sand blaster to remove paint and rust off various chassis parts. (ex. Front Cross member)
I do have access to a compressor, and wanted to know if this would be able to do the job:
ALC Keysco 40420 3 in 1 Handy Blast ALC40420 (http://www.toolsource.com/handy-blast-p-105224.html)
Would I need a larger blasting gun w/tank?

how bad is the piant and rust? this looks kinda weak. u need some thing that u can change the grit on and also the "tank" or bag was really small, u need something bigger other wise u will be refilling it soo much it wont even be worth it. i would go to harbor fright and look at what they have, got stuff there before and worked fine. its all depends on how bad and howbig are the parts. but i would look in to getting something bigger.
need any help lmk
good luck

Biggest parts will be cross members front and rear. The rust is really just surface rust on the parts, and I would need something to get into tight spaces.
My budget is around $120 for a unit, and I may not use it much after this project.
What about this instead?
ALC Siphon Abrasive Blaster 90-Lb. Capacity, Model# 41018 | Portable Abrasive Blasters | Northern Tool + Equipment (http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_28129_28129?cm_sp=Xsells-_-Manual-_-Product%20Page)

Yeah, thats not gonna work for you buddy. If you dont want to buy a blast cabinet then check with your local businesses there and see how much they would charge you to do the stuff you need done. Theres a place not too far from there called Bethlehem sandblasting and coating. Google the number and try that route maybe. A cabinet is handy to have though

If you're not going to use it after this project, you could probably just take your subframe somewhere and have them blast it, it would probably cost much less than what you're going to spend to buy a good blaster...
