View Full Version : killed my laptop.....help me!

From my phone ;)

Ran servuce pack 2 on windows xp,finished install on sony vaio laptop. Tried to restart and it is a perpetual restart now and won't pass the bootup screen!
Ran safe mode w/command prompts....didn't even boot to that!
Tried last good setup.....,nothing!
What can I do now!
It was just to use fuckin itunes for a newer ipod, requiring service pack 2 for this OLD laptop,probably like 2000 something old.
Any info is awesome!

Try to Boot to a Windows XP CD and run the recovery console. Then type fixmbr to try to repair the hard drive boot sector.

Kool, I don't have any windows boot cds though....

its just the Windows XP installation disc. It might be labeled something like Recovery Disc if you have your CD's that came with your laptop.

or get another computer and download a copy :/

Damn, ok, guess ill hjave to find one from a friend. This laptop is hella old.
