kas cost around $300.. maybe a little more with tranny and ecu.. it all depends on miles too.. a lot of ppl are trying to dump their kas after an sr swap. as for how easy? if you searched, you would have found out that most ppl say that this swap is straight on.. probably easier than sr since you dont have to extend any wires.. its is most hassle to go from ka24e to ka24de but since you are swapping ka24de to ka24de it should be plug and play. just take off all the sensors and wiring, pull old ka motor out, drop new ka motor in, plug things back in, and get going...

what is the difference between the ka24e and the ka24de. the car im getting is a 92 coupe with 211,000 nad my bet is that it needs a new motor. does it have the ka24e or ka24de.

92 and up come with the DOHC...

just do a compression test with you SOHC if its all good no need for a new motor.. unless various other peices are messed up..

but yes..use the mighty search button...

91 and up are ka24de motors.
dont get a ka24e, cuz its a downgrade in everything... reliability (timing components die), and power. You'll also need to swap ecu, accesories, and do some wiring. It's just stupid. If you get a '91-'93, it'll be a straight "1) unclip stuff, 2) remove engine, 3) install newer engine, 4) reclip stuff."

i wouldn't say that it was a downgrade in everything.

the ka24e has more potential naturally aspirated than the ka24de.

however, in the forced induction route, hands down goes to ka24de.
