What's the process of removing the stock KA24DE? So far me and my friends have removed all the simple stuff (air box, hoses, unplugged harnesses, etc) but we just want to know what we're getting into to remove the engine. We see 2 engine mounts. Is that it? And a tranny mount? What else? TIA

theres some bolts on the engine mounts. thats it. you might want to pull the whole thing out as 1 piece but you'll have to unbolt the tranny mount and bar. if you dont have enough room to lift your car high enough to pull the tranny and engien as one piece, take the shifter out first.

After taking the radiator, clutch fan and electric fan out then..first off you will need to un-connect all the wire connectors. Make sure you get everyone....not that many about 15-20. You will then need to dis-connect everything that plugs into the fire-wall. After everything is removed in those first steps then you will need to unbolt the driveshaft from the tranny and take the yoke out. After the shaft is out of the tranny, take the shifter out. Leave the tranny cross-member bolted on for the moment. After you take that off then you can unbolt the down pipe from your exhaust manifold disconnecting all the b.s. recirculating line from the manifold. After you romove everything intented to come out The mounts are on both sides of the bay(only two of them) and in the center of them there is a nut. Take them off. After you get that done then take off the tranny cross-member. Your all set to lift out.

P.S. I hope you have a chain fall pully or a engine lift to get it out. I recently last month pulled my KA out and it wasn't to bad. just take your time and label EVERYTHING!!!!

Good Luck!

Hey thanks FRpilot and FastBack 240, that was really helpful. We're almost finished with the swap now, just gotta plug in all harnesses and put back accessories and radiator, airbox and we're done!
