What kind of brand name core can you get for only 3-400?????????? You can't even get a Greddy Spec LS for that price.

Ebay Or brand name is ''to some sort'' the same, Supra guys Stopped paying 1700$ For a greddy FMIC, And started to buy Ebay Fmic's...
Unless you push REAL power (like 600+Whp) i think the Ebay one Is A-OK

im running an evo 8 front mount IC and its great. Payed like $70 for it and $80-100 for piping from cx racing with hardware.
only thing you have to modify is the mounting bracket and the inlet pipes need to be straightened out.
total cost for set up is about $300 with the fab work needed.

I have a HPI FMIC, from the person that I got it from told me it was about 500. Not the best name but it does its job. ISIS is about that range.

i was gonna get the core off ebay and have my guy custom make the piping..hows the ebay brand kits piping treat you guys?? no leaks?? or if working under the hood can it easily bend or break because it looks kinda flimsy...wanted like some sturdy 3 inch aluminum..bigger pipes make it look alot better too in my opionion

really after a long time of thinking about it, it really comes down on what kind of car guy you are.
•If you are a guy who "uses" cars, to do something (like drift or drag) - then just go cheap
•if you are a guy who "loves" cars - then you may want to look toward the higher end stuff

well as of right now i am on a budget and also my ka is about to take a shit..and the only two things i am going cheap on is the intercooler and downpipe...which are both easily changeable later on

looking for used intercoolers is a good idea on Ebay. Obviously look for damage but I have found that used intercoolers go for dirt cheap... name brand or knock off. Also like has been mentioned Evo intercoolers are great cores and realatively cheap.
Just shop around. I picked up a brand new megan intercooler core for $30 off ebay from some "mopar" dude retail is like $250 so there is plenty of deals out there for cores.
The best knock off from what I have heard is the ss autochrome one... apparently it outflows the greddy LS core. search, I know the topic has been covered.

Piping is what makes or break an E-bay intercooler. They may or may not line up properly.
