hey so im installing a viper 560xv in my 95 s14 and im almost done with the install. the remote start is giving me problems. when i hit the key fob to do remote start the brain clicks like its trying and my lights flash but nothing happens. it doesnt kick the fuel pump or turn the car over. i think its a problem with the pink wire going to the black/red wire. and i even have the neutral safety switch hooked up to the trans and inline with that a manual shut off switch. everything is soldered and heat shrinked. can anyone help??:wtf:

you have to make sure all your ignitions are hooked up. Did you hook up the second starter? Green key side and purple starter side?

The neutral position switch wire is supposed to see ground so meter and double check that it does when in neutral.

ya i have the second starter wire hooked up with a relay. im pretty sure all my start wires are hooked up. i think it has to do with my either wiring from the main brain to the satellite relay. or the ignition wires. and when the car is in gear and i try to remote start it doesnt even click or flash lights, so i know that is hooked up properly. and i have double checked it. the switch on the trans just makes it ground out which is what the alarm wants to see to be able to start.

could it be that i only have one constant power on the satellite? thats the only thing that i can think of. it has two constant wires coming out that are red and one more that is red/white. and it says (from what i understand) that you only need one of the red ones. the other two dont need to be used??? thanks

What i typically do i hook up all the reds on one wire. Pink to ignition 1 and pink with white to ignition 2.

If you place the key in the on position will the remote start work?

ok so i tried remote starting it with the ignition on. all it does is click just like with the ignition off. i have the relay setup on the 2nd start wire and it doesnt click so there is something in the satellite (i think) not happening (or the relay is bad, dont think so). what red/black wire are you talking about? i dont have one of those, what is it used for? you think i should do like you say and hook up the rest of those constant +'s to each other? thanks again

You say you ran the wires for the Neutral switch... did you bypass the clutch cancel switch? If not then that is why the car won't start.

no i havent done that yet. im just pushing in the clutch when i try to remote start. should work the same as bypassing it.

on another note i was unsure on how to bypass the clutch switch and still have it be functional.. is this possible without a relay? i hate wiring relays too many wires lol

P.S. the garbage in my garage smells like absolute SHIT. i think its making me sick

Sorry I just pulled up your manual and you dont have the red/black. I have been doing the new 5701 with red/black so i just assumed, haha. Id give the reds a try and see if that works. Also see if the neutral switch is giving a ground during the remote start circuit. Other than that I cant think of much others. The clutch bypass has to be done with 2 relays if you want it to function like OEM while not remote starting and being bypassed while remote started. Using a 451m can make this a lot simpler for the clutch bypass.

a 451m?? unsure of what that is. i will probably just solder the two wires together. ya i think tomorrow ill try and splice in that other +. im tired tonight. and ready to get out of my stinky garage. and yes i checked the neutral safety and its got negative signal with the manual switch on and it in neutral and then with in gear the negative signal goes away. thats working properly right??

do you install a lot of alarms/remote starters?

one more thing. tachometer signal... can i take that off of the blue/black wire from in the dash that hooks to the gauge cluster, or do i need to get it from the yellow/red wire from the ecu harness?

Yeah thats my job haha. A 451M is just basically 2 relays built into 1 for the use of door actuators. The neutral switch is working properly. If you bypass the clutch unplug the switch when fully depressed and cut the green/black. Do not connect it to the green/white. Personally I always go directly to the ECU. I haven't had a problem with it since.

PM me if you need anymore help.

ok so i hooked up that other + wire on the satellite and now it kicks the fuel pump and starts but only for a second then shuts off and then trys again. its not recognizing that its running. any ideas? i moved the rpm wire to the yellow/red one on the ecu harness. no dice

alright so i messed around with it today a little bit. i was reading the manual and on the alarm there is jumpers. one for the lights and one for the tach. it said to jump it if you have a low voltage tach signal. well i figured it couldnt hurt, so i jumped the other spot. tried remote starting it, nothing, didnt try to learn the tach after that. i was showing a friend what it does and it started up just fine and didnt have a problem ran great till i shut it off.. since then i havent had a problem with it. i just went out to it and tried learning the tach signal and it leaned it quickly. everything is working perfect. im stoked. thanks for all your help clearalbino!!
