Cluster question for a pro..

If i get a new instrument cluster from like a S15 for my S13, will it wire up and / or fit properly? Has anyone done it? I dont like the look on mine. 180 kms on the speedo is a joke, no I never go that fast usually, but the fact is that I can almost do it in third gear.

Anyhow, will my idea work? Can a cluster be put in from other nissan cars as well?

s15 takes lots of wiring and such
not for the amateur or unknowledgeable. not mcuh inf out there too so your basically on your own

best bet:
get a Apex'i RSM or Blitz unit. dont go off the analog, go digital unit. blitz shows MPH and KPH, Apex RSM shows only KPH.
This is the best route!!!

or you can get a new gauge face, from something like takakaira. but yo'll need to get it recalibrated as well to work properly.

Can you elaborate on these? (where i quoted) I have removed the cluster before and I know the wiring into it, thats about it. Whats the APEX RSM?

is the stuff easy to find on their websit?

apex'i RSM (rev/speed meter)
its a fancy unit. veyr nice, has alllll sorts of blingy options and fuctions

just google Apex RSM or rev/speed meter and you'll read allll about it
i have one, great unit and good price

blitz makes one too,the name....i forget at the moment. verynice as well, i like it a lot. works well with teh blitz SBC-id. smaller then the RSM as well


both are great units

most people going that fast, dont use the analog cluster, digital is more accurate and just as easy to look at. depends where you mount it

soooo many companies do, i highly recommend a digital cluster. its much nicer. just stick with a analog RPM guage, your brain computes that so much faster then a digital! i tried on my RSM, bah waste of time, brain cant think that fast when you look at it for a moment...go analog on your RPM gauge. speedo, go digital

thats what I wann ado with mine. custom dash center mount the tach boost to the side and a defi HUD for speed up on the dash. im waiting till I get the PFC to do this so I can watch other engine functiuons on the display. have it CF wrapped and bam Im done. ooh fuel guae might be a good idea too huh?

id like to move my RSM up to my gauge cluster. but i'll cover some stuff.maybe, got the HUD one now so i'll just be coving my trip odometer and normal odometer...bah. junk anyways, its 3K off as it is. HMMM
sounds like a fun project....wiring routing is sucky and boring though. :(
