sears pt 5-7 wed night drags
I went to sears pt. tonight, first time with this car and damn that place was packed, cold, and really windy. anyway my first run was the best of the four...
1). 13.991 @99.36mph..2.1 60ft(raced a 2.5rs subaru with wrx turbo swap in it he ran 13.2 @107 with a 2.1 60ft
2). 17.532 @81.51mph..1.9 60ft(slipping clutch as i shift to 3rd gear so i let off the gas thinking i broke something)raced same 2.5rs but his trany blew out i 2nd gear.
3). 14.1 got it on tape but no slip, and i let off the gas(raced a crx and he ran a 15.1 something.
4). 14.315 @94.00mph..2.3 60ft(slowed down at end so i wouldn't break out and slowed down to much). raced a civic si and he ran a 14.9 something
so i didn't get to go any higher then stock 7psi cause the clutch wouldn't hold. on the second run i was at 13psi and got a really good 60ft time but as soon as i got it into 3rd it just wouldn't hold the power...so my 1/8th ended up being 10.7...i thought i blew the clutch out completely cause it wouldn't move in forth gear either.

your first run was pretty good for stock boost. i was wondering what your set up is? also what clutch are you using. i was going to go to sears but i had work. gets too cold there at night.

Aren't clutches fun. The clutch on my 240 started slipping about a month ago and a few days later the clutch on my gsx started slipping. I'm changing the 240 now, and I just talked to a guy today from a dsm shop about changing the gsx and he said he would do it for about $250-275, I was expecting around $400. I changed the clutch in my gs-t a few years ago and I remember thinking man I'm glad I don't have a gsx. AWD is a pain.:(

How much do they charge you to make a run at sears point? I was thinking about going up there. Also do you have to have a 5 point harness or a helmet? -thanks

I haven't been there myself yet, but a lot of guys that I work with go there often.
I'm not sure about the exact pricing, but I think its around $20 or so. You go until you "lose," basically. You don't need a cage or a helmet I don't think unless you're running anything lower than a 13 or so.
I could be wrong on the specifics, but I think that's how it goes.
Anywho, I've been wanting to go up there, mebbe the NorCal guys should set something up... I usually work Wednesday nights but itd be cool to go up there and run our cars. :D

it was 20 bucks for all night till you get beat out...and unless you are running 13.99 or lower you don't need a helmet..stock seat belts are fine you don't need anything other then that but make sure you have all lugnuts, battery tie down, and your seat is securly fastend to the floor.
