How Did You Find Zilvia?

I found it when I bought my car back in 2001 and was looking at places to like find stuff out thru some search engine... I lurked and read threads and never posted, then registered and posted for the first time back in september.

I've been lurking here for about 2 years now... how sad that I just started posting. I used to post on FA but those guys don't seem to have too much fun, its all tech. Tech is great, but sometimes you just need that bull**** to go along with it, and thus I am here now. Consdier me an informed newbie I guess...

I was on FA for a long time before i bothered checking out Zilvia,

i was dirrected to Zilvia for the
classifieds

then i was forced to register, cause you can't lurk without being registered.

Then i got bored with FA and started posting here, cause, yeah, you can have more fun on Zilvia.

At first I thought Zilvia was just a bunch of BS, but then I started following posts by some of the more knowledgeable members (a lot of names you don't see anymore) and I was hooked.

Still love FA though. I go there to post my what if's and brainfarts to bounce them off the great hive minds.

i found zilvia probably around september of last year when i was reading all that i could about 240s. until lurking wasnt allowed anymore. so i lurked on FA for a couple months. (i told myself not to register anywhere until i had an actual 240 hehe). 2 days after i got my car, i registered here. only reason im not registered on FA is cuz they dont allow "?" in the name :( . o well, you guys are right anyway, its a little looser here.:)

Back when i was looking for a reliable AND affordable sports car, i came across the 240sx. Form there i started looking for information about the car. I did a search on msn or google (i cant remember which) and this site came up. I remember seeing West's S14 with the 5-zigen Heidfeilds and thinking "Damn, now thats a nice looking 240sx."I lurked around for about year and then joined in june, a month after i got my car.

EDIT: ah yes, this is what started it all, well for me anyways.

I found Zilvia when I was looking for more info on the SR swap through google. Then when I got here all I found was a search that didn't work and SR-KAT debates and no usefull info:p After I got the swap done I registered and decided to stick around since FA was full of flames for n00bs

I must admit I like it here:D

Long Long ago, the days of the Amarok 240sx mailing list times I was a past owner of a 240sx and 300Z. Addicted to Twinturbo.net, I wanted a forum site for the 240sx, and Z :) I bought my 2nd 240 and it had the resources to build Zilvia.net. So it started... as a ezboard.com forum, few months later I realized how gay ezboards were and found Ikonboard (free cgi based forum) and thus it started to take off.

Almost 3 years later here we are, finally taking shape and proving to be a dominate source in the 240 world. (dont worry the Rides section will be done someday) :) (soon actually)

So here we are today :) I have a loving wife I found here on the Zilvia.net Personals (JK) and expecting a little member of the Zilvia family to be born here in 6 months. Who would have ever imagined... :)

umm dont remember.... I started reseaching 240s back in 99 so probably in my searches there. idnt buy one till 2000 and got on the amorok list... after my fifth "im gonna ban you" note for discussing strippers with Eyescream from the admins and shortly after joing the Atl list I left the amorok list. I didnt start going to the forums for awhile and then it was Club Si (dont ask) FA and then here, and well thats about it... that I can remember..

Found this webboard when I was searching for info on the Silvia. This board is pretty good and has procided me with a wealth of information.

I used to have another heading "mastalee" then I did not go on for a while and tried to log in but the password I thought was right was not.

I tried the password recovery several times, but it never emailed me back and I even tried to email the head who is West I think. But no answer.

So for a while I logged in anonymously until the board was limited to members only, so I registered under this heading in order to be able to get on... Wish I had my old heading, but the rules say this new one is "for life" and can not be changed unless there is a special reason. :(

Its kinda weird how i got here. I bought my 240 in Sept. 2 days later, i went to a import meet up in Rockville, MD. Met civickilla240style. I got onto the 240sx mailing list (yahoo email board). Got linked to www.Zilvia.net and FA by civickilla tellin me about a meet. From then on, ive been here.

....Man, i started on page 2 of that VA/MD/DC call to arms thread and its damn near 30 pages. Holy crap!

How I found Zilvia....

I've been a car nut for...hmm....as long as I can remember. For the past couple of years, my passion has been modified cars.

After bad experiences with an old Porsche 911 (too expensive!) and an '01 Camaro Z28 (too boat-like!), I decided to sit back, pay off all my debts, save my money, and keep an eye out for my next "cool car".

I'm still saving, paying off debt, and learning as much as I possibly can about working with cars. I've decided that the 240SX is the perfect platform for what I want to do, and I'm eagerly awaiting the future.

Oh, also, FreshAlloy is blocked at my work, but this place isn't, so I spend more time here.... :)

started reseaching the SR swap early '01... saw a gray hatchback around in late '01, heard a BOV, followed him to where he parked :D found out about FA from him (jon in NC, SR, big dent in driver's side rear), later on (summer-ish '02?) met Steeles at an autoX in charlotte and found out about zilvia. i post mostly on here, go to FA occasionally and read/post techy stuff
