hey what's up. i own a 95 S14. my fuel gauge doesn't work. and i'm looking for some advice. Someone told me look at the gauge cluster, someone else said that it's probably the sensor in my fuel pump. Where do you think i should start?

I don't ACTUALLY know how it works, but I would assume it sends a different voltage to the cluster, depending upon where the float is located.

With a full tank, measure the voltage being sent......then measure it again with way less, and see what it says.

If the voltage doesn't change substantially, then it's probably the float.

If it changes, then your cluster is scewed.

Yup!. It's basically a potentiometer, or a variable resistor based on where the float is. So you could pull the fuel level sending unit and put a voltage to it, and test the signal wire.
