my aunt has two. i wish they'd stay small :(
i should add one is purebred and one is a wolf hybrid, and probably the coolest dog i've ever seen.

and yeah, bi-eyed huskies are the best, they look like cyborg dogs from the future

YEA! HUSKIES!!!
I got a red blue eyed. Rescued her when she was 2.
Now she's approximately 12 years old now and struggling with arthritis in her hips as a lot of dogs her size would get....
It tore my heart apart to hear her cry in the morning because she can't get up =*(
Thankfully glucosamine has eased her pain. But i do miss her being so energetic.

Do Husky dogs normally "talk" a lot?
My friend's dad has one and it does the same thing as the dog in that video.
It is pretty funny actually, she goes on forever if you keep talking with her.

Huskies are adorable,
but would probably be a more challenging dog to take care of given the size & shedding.
wish i lived in house w a bigger yard.

Should be easy to search for AKG breeders in CA.

1 min of Google got me this (searched from Downtown LA 90013 zip)
Breeders.NET Search Results (http://www.breeders.net/search.php?action=search&doglist_id=236&zipcode=90013&country=1&submit=Fetch%21)

But, I'm guessing there's no chance in finding one in a pound..?

These dogs are awesome, I love their eyes.
Although I hate when people living in warm climates buy them. It must be torture for them to live in 100-degree heat, since they love cold and snow.
Someone down the street has one. Last winter, there was one last small snow pile that has not completely melted away yet, and the dog was out. It stayed and played in the snow pretty much all day, you could tell how happy it was. The next day the snow was gone, and the dog was just laying in shade again, all sad-looking. Heartbreaking.

I would recommend getting a rescue dog. I never got one before but I met a few folks that has rescue dog's and they're really smart, and obedient. I can't have anymore dogs at the moment because we have 5 dog's in the house. LOL.

ive seen pure bred Huskies at the pound before. in fact i almost adopted one, but found a Korean Jindo instead. Jindo's are awesome dogs too.

never bought a full bred dog. it feels much better to save one.

Didn't even see this thread. Domeme, you mean to say your new husky 8 weeks right? Not 8 months?

Pics are out of order. Mine is currently 4.5 months. When our pups are over a year and since you're local, lets mate them.

I feed him a vitamin and milk every day. Each day he gets some raw salmon, chicken, or beef. Every week, I give him a raw egg. This is in addition to the kibbles he gets. I feed him Royal Canin.

MY aunt and uncle had one. Named Smokey.

Big tip: Become the pack leader while its still a puppy. You are dealing with one of the strongest dogs out there. If you don't learn to be the boss, the dog will be a handful.

Smokey, when full size, was able to climb fences, dig several feet into the dirt, and do pretty much anything to kill anything smaller then he was. He was not a mean dog to people, but was a big handful. They ended up giving him away to some people that lived on a farm. (yes, it was a real farm not 'the farm).

Just be the boss or expect to have issues.
