S14 SR dies intermittently

Hey guys, occasionally when I am driving my motor completely looses power. If I take the car out of gear, it dies. If I stay in gear the car does not respond to any throttle input, and only remains "moving" because I'm in gear. I have had it happen to me that I start the car, and the engine dies. It does not hold idle at all, and the motor does not respond to throttle input. And sometimes it just runs perfectly fine, as if there are no issues. What could lead to these conditions?

Edit.. the motor makes no attempt to hold idle, or search. Motor starts, and immediately revs fall.

same thing happend to me i have an s14 sr. one of the wires on the wastegate solenoid was detached i fixed it and my car started running like a raped ape. i guess the wastegate was stuck open?
